So we all or by and large agree that none of our batsmen have performed in the championship to an acceptable standard. They have irrespective of their ages been consistently mediocre with the exception of the odd highlight
So it’s a difficult choice in a way to nominate a player of the season when the batsmen have effectually ruled themselves out so who do folk think should be in contention for player of the season
It’s difficult but I would suggest Salisbury must be in contention because he has made a decent fist of things with his bowling and has taken important wickets and in fact has improved his batting and his previous highest score
Any thoughts..?
Must be Rushy imho.

Salisbury's been great. Rushy too and it's difficult to go past them on Championship form. Rushy has 43 so far in the champo got 9 wickets in the 50 over @ 22 but didn't play in the T20. Salisbuy has 30 wickets at 27 but barely featured in the T20.

For all the criticism Richo got a century and 2 fifties in the 50 over stuff heading the averages at 49 for that comp.

Tom Latham - a century in the Champo, 2 x 50's in the 50 over and a 50 (98 n.o) in the T20. Overall the best batsman and the classiest one too.
Poynter - a century in the champo plus a 50 but average is ok but nothing to boast about at 29. His 50 over form was poor but averaged 44 in the T20.

Shite the rest of the team doesn't validate his average you complain we are shit with your anti Lewis agenda but think criticising a player who averages 25is harsh
You're entitled to criticise Steel, I'm entitled to say you've hardly/never watched him and are harsh with your criticism of him.

Dreadful season again for dccc in the cc

Rapidly losing all interest, with collingwood and Lewis calling the shots. Team selection all over the place, a complete lack of quality in the team, expectations totally lowered and a real need to get things moving again at the club.

Big changes needed.

This. Did plan to take Monday off work but for the first time in years, I'd rather just go to work. I may take Tuesday off, but certainly not both days. Be happy once the season is over. Good craic etc but the one day stuff and county stuff has been embarrassing to watch overall this season. Club has gone backwards, and needs a fresh input

Difficult to disagree with any of the above but the one glimmer of hope is the Salisbury, Lees and Raine signings. All credit to whoever set those up. We need one additional batsman of class and we'd be competitive again. That's assuming Bancroft is productive.
