I don’t know what you are arguing about but Steel has been no better than any of the batsmen
On the way to his 50 last game he was dropped twice and one was a absolute dolly
Average of 25isnt poor apparently

Steel averaged 40 last year and Rocky 45 the year before.

Steel hasn't had a good season (Cap'n Obvious) but he's a good player and I'd expect him to be better than what he's shown this year. So, criticise his season but of course we should hang onto him.
That's all I commented on let's hope he improves

He's 22 year old.
Ohh so play the age card

Fyi in 2015 Stoneman scored 1131 in 34 innings averaging 33.26. Not sure on others. Maybe Steel can push on a bit, bit at 22 years old i have every faith he will improve. Have a feeling Stoneman may have average 40 on second thoughts for one season, don't have my members book to hand though. Genuinely not arsed though as Steel is 22 year old and just starting out.
So I was correct thanks

Yes i know that. Less of the foul language.

You’re quite easily now the worst poster on here. You’re a bad bell, you’ve quickly gone from a valuable contributor to an absolute empty vessel.

Any excuse to get your digs in at Lewis and keep your agenda up. You know full well why lads out the Seconds weren’t playing at Warwickshire but STILL you had to get your dig in at Lewis.

Thanks very much. I've not once said the 2nds should be playing at Warwickshire. I'll be annoyed if they aren't playing on Monday (i think that's the next 1st team game)

Good last season poor this season
He hasn't been poor this season disagree with that.

I remember a time he got a dig in at Lewis for not playing Mccarthy even though he was away with Ireland

You just said who said this when I said about 25 been poor
You said Steel has had a poor season. I think that view is incredibly harsh. 25.25 batting average of course needs improving and have every faith that will improve. I don't think he's had the best of seasons but I can't describe it as poor. Just for the record he's our second highest scorer in the county championship, so if hes had a poor season, then what about the rest?

Lot of angst on the cricket forum today.

It's only a game all

It is a poor season. No one has had a good season with the bat ….. for comparison in 2016 we had 3 players with an average of 40+. This season of the players with more than 4 games (Latham had 4) Poynter has the top average at 30!

Only bowlers have had a good season in the Championship.

Only 3 centuries too.

So we all or by and large agree that none of our batsmen have performed in the championship to an acceptable standard. They have irrespective of their ages been consistently mediocre with the exception of the odd highlight
So it’s a difficult choice in a way to nominate a player of the season when the batsmen have effectually ruled themselves out so who do folk think should be in contention for player of the season
It’s difficult but I would suggest Salisbury must be in contention because he has made a decent fist of things with his bowling and has taken important wickets and in fact has improved his batting and his previous highest score
Any thoughts..?

Shite the rest of the team doesn't validate his average you complain we are shit with your anti Lewis agenda but think criticising a player who averages 25is harsh
