England v India 4th Test

Are you taking the piss?

"Fantastic" at home.

Our ODI side is fantastic. It's an absurd hyperbole in relation to the test team.

SL 2014.

When's the last time any big team lost a home series in this era of home advantage?

We drew series against some lower ranked teams (NZ, Pak) and have been blown away by them in individual tests. That doesn't make for a "fantastic" home side.

Why do half the threads on this forum end up debating this adolescent's hyperbole? "Fantastic", "Scum", "All time great" etc.

Be easier if he just learned a few more f***ing adjectives...

We are great at Home you’re talking utter shite in your constant quest to be negative against the side

It’s utterly Embarrassing

I remember when we won in South Africa and the ashes at home you came up with loads of excuses why it wasn’t that impressive

I thought Rashid might be been the one to drop out to have a look at Burns. Its not ideal to have the first winter test with Burns and someone else (possibly not Jennings) opening.

You shouldn’t have a specialist batsman at 7.

My opinion

If you're saying Buttler should have the gloves - I agree.

But if you're saying Buttler is a specialist batsman and deserves to bat higher, I disagree. The iron law of averages suggests that Stokes, Ali and Bairstow are definitely more specialist batsmen than Buttler is - we're in danger of being blinded by form if we argue otherwise imo. Buttler is in form. Bairstow and Stokes, not so much.

Yeah he's lucky but then you don't get to test Ali up the order and I think its inevitable, given they will want to go in with 2 spinners and 4 seamers definitely in Sri Lanka and maybe in Windies too, that he (or Bairstow) will play up the order, as Ali did last time we went to the subcontinent (not without success either - he got at least one ton iirc). So we have to take a look at that too.

Personally would have peddled Jennings. And Rashid for Leach. I know he has the odd defender on here, but he really is garbage. His impact on the last day of the last match (i.e. a bunsen burner) tells us all we need to know.

Jennings needs a ton this game surely

Yeah. Or at least an 80-90.

'great at home' We were rank against Pakistan in the first test you lackwit.

I bet you flamed Vaughan and Boycott on Twitter mind.

I call it as I see it. We have bowled well in this series (Broad is back to his A game) but batted poorly, one or two partnership aside. Fielding also poor but much improved at Southampton.

I think you post a lot of common sense on a variety of issues, including cricket. But I think you're being a bit stubborn here, I have to say. It's almost as if you think we should win every test, posting 450 in every first innings. Winning every series. There's some good bowling attacks out there man - we're going to lose games. Tests in England are always a bit more volatile because its the best place in the world to bowl swing and seam.

We've lost 2 series in 14 years man. The team is ludicrously flawed, particularly on the batting side of the equation. But you cannot argue with its series winning record at home. The results are there.
