I just don't get the obsession. If he was performing miracles i'd understand. They've chased managers who've done a far better job.

He has a good track record and has managed big clubs, albeit his best achievements were in his early days at Liverpool and at Valencia. I think there is a feeling amongst many of their support that if he doesn’t do it (i.e. deliver ‘success’) no one will.

I don’t think he’s amongst the elite managers anymore, but they still feel he is.

I see some parallels with him and O’Neill with us.

I saw snippets of the games against spurs and Chelsea and they didn’t play too bad. The defeats they’ve had this season have been narrow

Narrow or not they are in the relegation zone and confidence at the whole club must be low

They are slowly but surely talking themselves and playing themselves into a bad place.

Not looking good for them.

Benetez looks lost.

The ghost of Sir Bobby could descend from the heavens and say "Rafa isn't that great" and they'd be straight on the phone to the Ghostbusters

Imagine the scene man

Bobby runs into venkman...

venkman.... he slimed me

stantz.... thats great, actual pysical contact.

Spengler......lads it's the early 80's, me and Bobby are still alive, that's just mag hockle venkman's rolling around in.

If the scum don’t get relegated next season I think they’ll be certainties the season after as Rafa won’t be there and that’ll lead to a whole kind of turmoil like the 2008-2009 season.
