Wyke V Maja

Defoe is on a different planet to league 1 defenders mate. He would score 50 goals if at safc and not injured this season even at 35ish imo.
Just got me looking back.. Jesus how good is that lad. Squeeze one season in the championship out of him if we go up

One of the biggest benefits that Ross will be looking for from Wyke coming into the team is, ironically, defensively. We are very susceptible to conceding at set-plays at the moment and another big lad defending at corners/free kicks should make a difference.

Having said that, I really hope the Wyke & Maja will form a very effective partnership.

With a genuine 9 (Wyke) leading the line, I would expect we could and would be playing a lot higher up the pitch, for a lot more of the game.
Surely with "attack being the best form of defence" this can only be a good thing. Playing I hope a 352 with Maja (10) up and around Wyke, would I believe suit the front foot approach which has undoubtedly produced the better football season to date.
We appear to have settled much better going forward than we have defensively so far, which I believe says a lot about the increasing quantity and quality of the midfield performance. Cheers HTL with three A's

Defoe would’ve scored half a dozen.

My mate loves the Wyke or Maja debate as either way as it’s gonna cost less for the bairns shirt than a long named player.

If Wyke and Maja click then we’ll be promoted by Xmas.....then back in the PL by Easter.

Thanks very much WTP. Seems exactly what we need ?
Someone who gets in the right place where and when he is needed. Better still knows what to do when he gets there !
Should be worth the wait for this lad. Just Trust Jack ! Cheers HTL with three A's

I was gonna mention it last week but knew I'd get pelters but, below the waist Majas hold up play was good. Head height, never won a ball. Wyke will, that's the difference in the all round picture. Imo
Its something the boy can work on in training hopefully.

I’d like to see how we do playing 5-3-2 with these 2 up front, I’m sure after the success we had 2nd half against Charlton we will see that formation used again in certain games.

Maja will have to develop into a strong lad, he’s not particularly quick, so having that strength to go with his intelligence on the ball and his finishing qualities, would do him wonders.

don't think there is any argument that maja has been doing well, but we all realise he is still a young lad who has been given a massive task and in the main he has been man enough to stand up and take it on...he is still learning and the only way to really grow into the physical side is competitive games.

experience will come first i think and that is in no way a slur on maja but using him more sparingly will (imho) help him more than having to take the lead role.
