Wyke V Maja

It would be destructive to Maja to have him try and lead the line for a full season. Thankfully he won't have to. He has shown enough to be involved though , and when others are fit the manager will be able to select is time on the pitch a bit more. I don't know lot about Wyke, but he has a decent record and is experienced. We'll need them both plus Sinclair. Maybe especially Sinclair.

Sinclair and Maja today would have worked well imo. Sinclair looked a real physical presence against Charlton.

Aye Maja struggled today however he’s just a bairn learning his trade. Will be interesting to see if JR plays two up top when all available

Played it plenty of times to his feet as well
We did and more often than not it stuck and he was able to hold it up but when it was launched up in the air to him he got battered and won very little. That said they had some big units playing today and Maja wasn't the only one to have a rough ride.

I think today shows us the kind of game that Wyke will be used for. Maja has been great and even if Wyke had been fit I’d still say Maja should’ve started, but against a more physical side and balls in the air Wyke will be a great assett.

Maja didn't enjoy playing against Wimbledon, Wyke is used to that kind of game.

Both have their value but Maja can't keep this up all season imo.

My point being Defoe would've run rings around their defenders. He's different class, not knocking Maja at all but his point Defoe wouldn't have done anything against them is bollocks

Agree but had we continued lumping it in the air even Defoe would struggle. In the second half when we changed it around we were stringing passes together along the bottom and it paid dividends. Maja had a much better second half.
He is still a young lad learning his trade and you are right he is no Defoe. Defoe is still a premiership player, Maja isn't.

wait until we bring these knackered to the sol and they have to deal with Maja and wyke

Defoe at 19 would have struggled against that defence- maybe a fairer thing to say
just had a look and at 19-20 Defoe would have been on loan at league one (division two) Bournemouth where he scored 18 goals in 29 matches
Maja has a lot of potential imo
