do people not still use D boxes?
Stopped about 10 years back

Don't be silly!

Clearly you're not clued up with Linux....I have a Duo 2 and have done allsorts to it, brilliant.

Get the 256 with wifi dongle or not depending if you're hard wiring it or wifi.
The vu is an old device these days. Fair play if your making it work well for you.

I just use my Xbox one for kodi no need for a separate box anymore (for me atleast).

Haven't really considered that before. Might give it a go.

I have a Minix U1 but it doesn't support Liberec Codec for the newest Kodi Version. That means my smooth streams sub can have a kiddle judder if it's a UK stream. American ones seem fine .

Been using the android app for smooth streams it's it's ok, not great. Might be worth trying on Xbox one.

I thought the fire stick was vastly underpowered
I'm using a formular z7+ atm, and it is quality tbf
and I upgraded from a vu duo 2 (about 6 weeks ago) which was 350 quid when I bought it, this little thing is WAY better :(
I had a solo2 which I sold a month or so ago, paid £300 quid and initially used a share then sod all for yonks, relying on Kodi etc, went IPTV and got it on the solo2, bit of a faff.

Now use IPTV on my LG tv and it’s far far superior. Complete waste of money that solo2.

As said, the z7 formular is the iptv box to go for if its standalone iptv your after. The mytv app they have is flawless.

The z7 is best iv messed around with for iptv. Better than the shield as the addon they use mytv is dedicated to the formuler box. Other addons like kodi etc i found clunky and just not rite on it. In an ideal world a z7 should acompany a decent kodi device, its not much kop for kodi alone.

Good info mate , am exclusively IPTV and plex thru KODI , so thats made my mind up , cheers.

It's not.....The Duo 2 is only 18 months old, have the 4K Ultimo coming next week....S tuner, C tuner, etc, what more could you want? ;)
Sorry, Maybe i confused it with the vu duo. The 2 must be the newer model. Sold my motorised dish and dreambox about 4 year ago, cannot say iv missed it mind mostly stream stuff nowadays.

just the way it goes though mate...... you've been unlucky, and hit in the pocket
I got 3 years out of my vu duo, so I can't really complain.....

.

Duo 2 is old as the hills now and VASTLY under powered compared to most android boxes these days. Don;t kid yourself mate, time to move on.

Just to give you a comparison, I had the Duo2 years ago, then had the Solo4k which was a more powerful box, amazing for sat, not for anything else.

The Duo 2 is years old mate - 2011, 2012, something like that.

The sat game is dead now, time to move on don't restrict yourself ;)

Vermin will be fully gone before long too, already going black isn't it?

SmartIPTV you using? You need to go to their web page - you'll see that when you open the app and goto about (press blue I think)

Then you need M3U details from your provider - enter them into the web page, save it and it'll activate on your TV (Make sure the MAC address on the web page matches what shows on your tv via the settings page as well)
