Massive fail with my raspberries this year... No idea why
Nowt much from mine in the way of fruit, though I think has been so dry that the birds are going mad for fruit, jusy for the water content.

With the cold and water logged garden early in thr year, a few of my rasperry canes died. Those that were left have gone very bushy. Nowt in the way of fruit. Has anyone had luck seperating rasps? How do you do it? There are some bits that would be great if I could move them a foot or two to the left.

Sweetcorn has been an interesting experiment. I planted some out in bare ground with a few crown prince squash inbetween and both are doing well. I planted more in between broad beans with butternut squash between roms - which is apparently a well established companion planting technique in the southern American states. The beans are great, but the sweetcorn and squash have hardly developed since planting out.

I find Sweetcorn always struggled outside... This year might've been better due to the warm spell.

I've used the 3 sisters method before quite successfully, but with climbing beans and courgettes among the corn.

Should I be seeing chillies yet!!!!
Growing outside but I have tomatoes outside with loads of fruit on? The chillies have flowers on

Our tomatoes have just been positively bursting with flavour. I can usually take or leave them but they are sweet as sweet can be. Spinach & chard still cropping like a loon. Found some self-seeded tomato & courgettes in the flower beds which I'm letting run on out of curiosity.

My tomatoes are still green...

I picked a green one up at the weekend and out it on the kitchen unit to catch the afternoon sun. It's ripened up nicely. The self-seeded tomatoes are starting to fruit now, I'm just overrun by the sweetest juiciest tomatoes ever.

The courgettes are flowering, again all self-seeded so will be interesting to see if they fruit

After a good start the drought like conditions have totally fucked me beans. Being away for a week didn’t help either. Toms and all other stuff has done fine

Same here mate like flared hicks said once to size I whip them into window sill for a day or two.
Where do you lot grow your tomatoes? Mine are just in tubs at the bottom of the garden against a brick wall that catches the afternoon/evening sun. Had bowl after bowl of ripe ones off just 5 plants. I pinch out all the branches which are just leaves, no flowers or fruit to allow maximum air and sun to reach the fruit

TBH the same but without the attention to detail. Let them over grow a bit this year so plenty fruit but not getting ripe. Thinned them out last weekend and they have started to ripen straight away. A lesson learned I suppose.

My dad will knock you up one for free if you want mate. Loads of lovely tomatoes and potatoes, more than we can eat!
Aye if ya go round and ask you will get a f***ing load. Even though I grow bits of stuff the father in law still insists on pawning me off with 80,000 tomato’s he doesn’t want.

My tomatoes are in a polytunnel, full sun....

Admittedly I haven't stripped the leaves back yet... Guess that's today's job !!

Halve them, sprinkle with sea salt and a drizzle of olive oil, roast slowly in the oven till shrunk, then puree & freeze

Best pasta sauce ever

Add garlic/herbs etc..... Result

If weight isn’t a concern then Marcella Hazan’s butter and tomato sauce is wonderful

I shove tomatoes in pots on the patio and hope. For some reason they always come out really well - we've had tonnes (bit warmer than up north so a bit ahead of people) - made a couple of huge vats of tomato sauce for the freezer, the kids have eaten tonnes and we're fobbing them off on all the family now.

I’ve had five small plum tomatoes , technically 4 as I have one to the dog - still there’s lots of fruit on and I remember last year it was September I had the glut - think next year they need potted out earlier
