has anyone on here been to lanzarote ? My other half was looking for a holiday for next summer and Lanzarote keeps coming up the cheapest

Is it any good ? Is there much to do for kids , a 16 yr old and a 10 yr old or will we be left with grumpy faces again ? I’d prefer mainland Spain but it’s through the roof prices

It's OK, don't think there's lots for kids there though, mainly middle aged people that holiday there, from what I've seen.

Lanzarote is fantastic. As anywhere it depends what you like as a holiday. Hotels a brilliant with great entertainment etc etc. Great for kids they just end up in a gang.
Personally I prefer playa blanca. Bit like roker and seaburn. Puerto del car men is v popular with the Irish . Lots of pubs much more commercial .

As I said we loved it group of us 3 couples 7 kids spot on.

We've been to Lanzarote about 8 times.

The only amusement for kids I saw, was a water park and that was closed down, plenty of bars and restaurants, a good holiday for adults, not much going on for kids, but then I wasn't looking for that, it was mainly middle aged and older couples there when I went.

You can see all that’s to see in Lanzorote in a week.

You could spend years in Tenerife and not see it all.

Lanzarote is far better than mainland Spain. You can drive the whole island, see some decent authentic stuff.

A trip to the fire mountain is a must. We hired a 4x4 and drove there.

There was a waterpark near Costa Teguise but that was about 10 years ago. Looks like there's a new one near Playa Blanca.

That's good for kids IMO. Nice breeze to keep them cooler.

Thanks mate , I’ve been to Tenerife 3 times but it’s prety expensive now, although there was loads to do there
 
We are going in two weeks, got a girl almost 16 and a lad almost 10 with us too. Never been before like. TBH we are not arsed about seeing stuff and will spend most days round the pool. There's a zoo and a water park on our list but that will be it, and the beach.

I was in playa blanca for 2 weeks last summer.

Loved it, was in a villa right next to the ctr.

So much to do on the door setup if you like all that, I had to kids aged 12 and 14 so we done shit loads.
Speedboat, snorkelling, kayaks, bikes, cruise, hired little boat just for us, motorised scooters, water park 30mins away, Jeep safari, good selection of local and bars with the footy on, 2 beaches.

And I liked the cool breeze, just enough to cool you down.

I went once in a November and it was fooking boiling still (we beat Sheff Utd 5 - 0 away that week, I am sure - Bridges hat-trick?). Hope this helps!!
