fair enough Kumar knars his onions however this article from 2016 shows that Woakes had got his pace up to 90mph on occasions then and was averaging 85. He was no slouch like.

This second article was when Colly quoted that Woakes was bowling 90mph against Durham. So you choose to believe Kumar but i'll go for Colly ;)

Generalisation. Buttler is a match winner who can turn tests matches and series as he did in the last series he played in. My point being every time you take the piss out of him hes only a game away from making you look daft - like he did last time.

Averging close to 40 batting at 7 in bowler friendly conditions since his return with one man of the match and match defining innings is a great return really. Theres two sides to argument over Buttler and I can see the argument for his non inclusion. However one or two were talking about Buttler like he was Mark Lathwell, Chris Cowdrey or some plank that cant cut it. Hes miles better than that.

Re Woakes - you weren't right at the time. You said your comments a week before he took all 10 wickets against Durham with what Colly described as 90mph leg breaks. Woakes is no quicker now than he was then but he is clearly a better bowler, that's what experience of test match cricket does for you.

That was Woakes first major achievement in First Class Cricket in his breakthrough season as a bowler. :lol: You were telling us he was Malcolm Marshall when he was Warwickshire's third seamer.

Absolutely delighted for the lad he has got where he has from inauspicious CC origins, and fitting he should take the final wicket.
