No the

Steele averages 25btw and you love him. Colly came in for Jones and contributed more. And because generally stronger players would come back in your argument doesn't hold up sure you take opposition and conditions into account as well

I'm fully aware what Steel averages, as I posted it above. I don't "love" him. I've basically said we need to be giving these younger players more game time and to me it wouldn't be the worst idea to give someone the opportunity to get some captaincy experience. Ironically the game Steel captained......... we won.

I agree conditions and opposition has to be considered.............. we've just lost to the team who were bottom of division 2. Over a season though I think it's more than fair and sensible to look at the season stats.

Jones has had 1 game, very unfair to judge him on 1 game but as said he was part of a winning team, the last team to win a county fixture for Durham, like it or not.

"generally stronger players" - well they aren't showing that at the moment, again the stats/league table doesn't like.

You cannot argue with the stats. These younger players need more game time it's the only way they'll learn. Team needs a massive shakeup as currently it's not good enough

9 batting points from 8 games and the fewest bowling points in the whole county championship. Just not good enough.

You argue stats all the time about pringle

I did because you suggested his batting average at the time of 28 wasn't good enough. A few of us including @hudson88 explained that 28 is a respectable average for a number 6/7 (can't remember) batsman. Our current number 5 is averaging 11 this season.... For example.

for the record his last 3 years of averages were;

25.50 - 22 innings
24.30 - 12 innings
26.68 - 17 innings

Not too shabby at all for someone batting at number 7

You were very critical about his batting average in red ball cricket. Yes I want to see the likes of Davies involved, stand by that, pointless signing him if we dont intend to look at him. Season is a write off now red ball cricket, give some others a chance.

You didnt want Salisbury in the team, who do Davies, Jones coghlin and Mccarthy play ahead of

More than happy now for Salisbury to be playing, he's our player now.

I think Collingwood and Smith should be concerned. Davies to replace Poynter purely to see what the lad is about. Pringle clearly not part of the plans so pointless to consider

Mix it up a bit, look to next season a little bit also.

My team for whenever our next game would be (I assume Latham is away by then?)

Jones
Steel
Clark
Richardson
Davies
Harte
Trevaskis
Coughlin
Rimmington/Carse/Weighall/McCarthy
Salisbury
Rushworth

I’m not getting involved

Especially in a Pringle debate with Chops....that argument is about 3 year old now

I will say that in the last couple of year there’s been some canny cock ups at that club. And there’s people ‘pulling strings’ shall we say who may appear whiter than white from the outside looking in, but are not very popular within.

Now - carry on with the arguing

Does Axar Patel not replace Latham as soon as he goes?

Thought you would be in of your long run after this result ;)

Saw it coming a long way off in fairness and seeing how we’ve got fuckall to play for it doesn’t hold the same weight. Had we been pushing for promotion or battling to avoid relegation - fair enough, but the defeats at Sussex and home to Warwickshire meant our red ball season was done in June.

Do you go to the Sunderland games never see you on the footy forum

Fewest bowling points in both divisions mind
Yea but that run chase last match was built for Scotty. I always thought he was at his best in a run chase.

I don't want to disrespect Smith but it seems there's a gaping hole at number three right now whereas the with the bowling we have options at the club, even though many of them aren't fit right now.

Smith was never going to be the answer
