Newcastle are hated I know that, but then plenty of people on here will say Newcastle are a small club that nobody gives a shit about , do people really celebrate if a small club that nobody gives a shit about get relegated ?
Enjoy your 6 weeks off hopefully your mammy and daddy take you somewhere nice

Mad how we are still forensically examining the 15/16 and 16/17 seasons for Newcastle United on here. Always new ways of interpreting the same information. Anything to make Benitez look bad Ashley look good.
Anything contrary to what NUFC fans think.
We disliked Pardew? Almost deified on here, performances at Palace and West Brom ignored. We like Benitez? Fat fraud. Dislike Ashley? Should be grateful to have him.
Want our team to try to do better the following year? Deluded. Should be grateful to just be in the Premier League.
Can't be arsed to read far too long a post.

When did you notice those posts? An hour ago? The criticism you linked to (which now reads for contacting David Craig) has been up since before 6pm yesterday.

It seems weird that if they are as bad as you suggest they wouldn't have been pulled immediately but over a day later. It's a very tightly run forum and very self-moderating.

There's not a chance people are saying its unfair to contact David Craig.

The fact that Sunderland fans hate and criticise a top manager like Benítez and praise a wanker of an owner like Ashley tells it’s own story to me.
Actually, I think you’ll find that Sunderland fans don’t hate Benitez at all. We just find it amazing that you lot manage to put a man who has achieved less than Pardew, on such a high pedestal, whilst hounding Pardew out of the club.

Correct me if I’m wrong, but Benitez has spent millions, plays boring defensive football, relegated the club and refuses to sign a new contract, despite earning around £6m per year and has yet to achieve the level of success Pardew had.

However he was once a big name in football and that’s what you love.

Nee bosh

Yes, that's exactly it.

Clearly Chris Hughton, who built his squad up over a period of three years and tactically also built a mentality over that time while retaining most of his key players in the process is far superior to Rafa Benitez who had to overhaul his entire squad within three months and instill his mentality during a relegation battle and the summer (about six months).

The two achievements are nowhere near comparable.

Manager A - Inherits a team at the bottom end of the championship with a chance of being relegated. He manages, develops, coaches and improves a squad of players that were initially league one to lower championship standard on initially a very limited budget to create a team capable of being promoted and then stay in the premiership.

Manager B - Takes his team down into the championship. Has international players such as Shelvey, MBemba, Mitrovic at his disposal. Perez who had just had a very good season in the premiership, players easily good enough for the championship such as Colback, Dummett, Lasceles, Haidara, Anita AND has 60 million to spend on whoever he wants. Manager B get the team back to where they were when he took them over and also did well to keep them up

You are absolutely right when you say the two achievements are nowhere near comparable.

You missed out the bit where, according to here, all of those players were shit and Manager B will struggle massively because he doesn't know the league.

Apart from that, spot on.

Are you leaving if Rafa leaves? Or whatever that shite is about

If so, when he goes then where exactly are you going?

Different people have different opinions. I just stated facts. Those players were an excellent basis for any championship side with aspirations for promotion. I know that and you know that. If any manager was given those players and 60 million to spend they would absolutely expect to get promoted and that exactly what he did. Fair play to him but comparing that favorably to what Hughton did over time at Brighton is plainly ridiculous.

You claim you are stating facts but everything you posted after you made that statement is an opinion.

You tried to sarcastically say Hughton was better because he'd been able to build his own squad.

Isn't most of your team Benitez' signings?

Houghton is a very talented manager- and I think you'd find that 99% of Newcastle fans would agree with that.

Also a thoroughly nice bloke.

Perhaps it's latter that led Ashley to dispense with him at the expense of Pards. ....One off the strangest decisions I have come across - but typical of the big man.

Benitez is also a good bloke imo and a very good manager. Not many teams will get an easy win over us next season.

With Ki added, Schar to follow tomorrow by the looks of it, the new keeper signed permanently, Kenneddy back for another year ....

....Mitro soon to be on his way for £18m - so hopefully 1 or 2 more attacking players to come I.

I'm feeling positive. ....
Not excited - but positive
