Weren’t the majority of that team premiership footballers only a year earlier?

Not sure , I do remember reading on here that we were shite and would struggle to get promoted and then when we did it was because we were lucky and the championship was shite, then when we did get promoted, we would then struggle massively to even stay up, therefore I can only presume the players were terrible and Rafa performed miracles to do what he did.

Or you could argue that he should never have got you relegated in the first place. Plenty of less experienced managers have arrived later in the season and kept lesser teams up.

Then to be in charge of the most expensive championship squad ever assembled in the history of football, he had to rely on another team not winning any of their last 3 games to gift you the title. Hardly miraculous, but you believe your version and keep blowing smoke up his ar$e if that’s what make you happy..

Bingo. Cognitive dissonance on display again it seems.

Give him his due, at least he stuck around after he relegated them.

Unlike the lion of gosforth.

Eh, Shearer wanted the job but wasn't offered it.

Villa spent about £20m more than us that season for a kick off.

Spent more than us last summer and finished below us last season. Apart from that it’s the same
Because you both only played players you bought in that season?
Not like you spent massive amounts the year before, or the winter before that.

Good article this

This bit sums it all up perfectly

In the two and a half years since the Spaniard’s – arriving just months after vacating arguably the biggest footballing seat on the planet – he has guided a motley crew of relegated misfits to the and returned the club to the top 10 of the Premier League all the while turning a £19m profit in the transfer window.
Net spend is a load of rubbish
A) Figures wont be decided until the player leaves
B) Wages and agents fees arnt taken into that
C) You spent a lot of money but you sold a few players for a bit more. Compare that to say Burnley and I know which one is the bigger achievement

You aint got a clue have ya? Remind me where your manager is from and what league his team is in?
You do know we have no ability to make our team better or pick our manager? Just like when you arnt doing well its not your fault...
