There’d be plenty of takers if he were to put it up for sale as a clean break for £290m imo.
But the rhetoric over and over again is he’s running the club in to the ground. How?Yes he can do what he wants, does that mean fans just accept it?
Why would Sunderland fans criticise Short when he can do what he wants? Blackpool fans and Oyston, Charlton fans, Villa fans and Lerner, Villa fans and Ellis, Liverpool and Hicks and Gillette, Sunderland and Murray, Man City and Peter Swales, Leeds and Ridsdale, Blackburn and the Venkys, Portsmouth a procession of shite owners....
Just because they own it doesn't mean fans have to accept it. Fans just want what they think is best for their club
But the rhetoric over and over again is he’s running the club in to the ground. How?
I could understand the feeling and the protests if he was actually running it in to the ground.
It's unimaginable their precious city which they adore would have been refuced to rubble as it seems to bear the brunt of their angstBut Ashley doesn't back Rafa, remember.
Set of self entitled a*seholes, not all of their supporters, but a fair chunk of them.
Imagine if they'd sunk as far as we have.
Spot on ^ but they are so thick they can't see he is taking them for just as big a rideTo me, this recent hysteria stems from Rafas quotes. If he said he’s happy with the squad the mags would probably be happy. Coming out and saying they are in a relegation battle before a ball has been kicked has caused mayhem. He’s doing a Moyes and protecting himself. He’s got the mags eating out of his hands.
Whatever happens Ashley will always be the villain. I noticed Rafa never complained about his huge salary (even in the championship) when moaning about money.
Were they spending £100m and we £50m I'd take your point. West Ham have spent £114m and we've spent... £4m, for a 'keeper. West Ham have sold one player for £1.7m, we've sold 2 first team squad players for £20m. I won't go into Net spend for fear of the fury that some will lurch into.Bournemouth West Ham etc have had more seasons on the gravy train in the past few seasons. Didnt you’s spend more than those two the past few seasons?. Yous we’re one of the highest spenders the other season in all of Europe no?.
I’m sure yous will spend money this season, West Ham have owners that are willing to put the club in debt with there spending and have just had a win fall of a free stadium and a big influx of cash that brung. The outrage ower Ashley you must admit it’s overblown man, a portion of your fan base acts like he’s the worst owner of any football club ever.
Whose niggardly approach cost us our Premier League position in the first place? Even if you credit Ashley for loaning the club some money, he didn't fund the purchases of players, that came from player sales. How much did you lose last year and who funded that?

Which window were Newcastle one of the top spenders in all of Europe? Summer 15/16 was our biggest transfer expenditure recently and we weren't even in the top 5 of the Premier League.
Every fanbase will fight their own battles. We've all seen the shit Arsenal fans got for wanting shot of Wenger. There'll be fanbases who'd have swapped places with you under Short in a heartbeat, but you wanted him gone. There's fans of clubs who'd casually look at our situation and declare they'd love to be a Premier League club with a good manager and what not. Were they to look a little harder they'd see that Benitez will justifiably walk if he's not appropriately backed (as he was assured he would be), that the club is a relegation candidate already, that once Benitez goes it's likely Ashley will appoint a clown like Kinnear.
Would a Blackburn fan want to swap one shithead owner for another? Probably not.

I know it's the done thing on here to paint Ashley as the victim, but you're the only fanbase that does it.
You go on like you’ve won multiple leagues in the 70’s, 80’s and 90’s like Liverpool and are thinking you should be competing up there.
FFS you had a good run for a few year but you have won fuck all for years man. 60 odd in fact.

The funny thing is, they actually believe this shit. 10th place not good enough. Were they complaining when he bought Shelvey and Townsend? Or when he reinvested £50 plus million in the championship? They're a bunch of nutters. They're only happy when they're unhappy.
Forbes has us as around the 21st richest club on the planet. We have a decent sponsor deal, we consistently bring in decent sums in the transfer windows, we're benefiting from the vulgar tv deals. What has he done that is so wrong? He isn’t about to bankrupt you because of spending beyond your means like so many clubs
I get you want him to spend more, but he’s displaying financial prudence.
But that doesn’t mean it has anything to do with the government.
Ambition doesn't mean title challenge. For all but 3 or four clubs the title may as well be mythical. But playing good football is attainable, as is consistently getting a top half finish. Trying to win a cup is attainable. To do the above, you need investment. Which is what we see every season from other clubs. Bournemouth are trying to finish as high as possible and their owner is backing Howe to make that easier. So are the Dildo Twins. So are the uber-dodgy Wolves owners.
So? That’s got nothing to do with the government.Forbes has us as around the 21st richest club on the planet. We have a decent sponsor deal, we consistently bring in decent sums in the transfer windows, we're benefiting from the vulgar tv deals.
We're patently not spending without our means, we're not close to spending what we clearly could. Allowing Benitez to spend sums comparable to the rest of the Premier LEague would not risk financial rack and ruin.
But that doesn’t mean it has anything to do with the government.
I’d love to buck Kelly Brook. But I’m not getting my MP to raise it in parliament, even tho it would be good for my morale
So? That’s got nothing to do with the government.
I get why you don’t like him. But that’s not the point

Some on this site are just as bad. We are just 4 months down the road from near financial oblivion. Some are already advocating we bid 'whatever it takes' and living beyond our means
I’ll put it on Facebook for you mate
Don’t go getting arrested there PeterMay just tweet her my nob with a wish you were here caption![]()
How did Ashley's niggardly approach cost you your Premier league place?
He gave McLaren £80m to spend then gave you a world class manager in Benitez. Yet you still went down.
Then he gave your world class manager money to get you promoted.
You fuckas should be grateful to big Mike.
