The hilarious thing is that the fans think that Benitez might walk.

It's not happening under any circumstance as for some reason he signed a deal saying he had to pay up the rest of his contract if he walks (confirmed by George Caulkin).

Empty threat after empty threat. Ashley knows he won't walk due to the terms of his contract, hence why he doesn't change anything re: spending.

He also won’t walk because he knows he’s above reproach whatever he does. Why pay the rest of his contract up when he is idolised and apparently blameless

with one year left I'm sure he could ccover that with any singing on fee from a new club if he really wanted to go

Just had a look and in the six seasons previous to this one your net spend was almost exactly £20m per season. £122m net spend over the last six seasons according to transfermarket.com prior to this summer.

ok but 4 of those seaons were before the huge new tv deal (and in our case before we added 26000 extra seasion ticket holders)
