“Jonjo should have had Henderson’s shirt, far better player”

I think Henderson is possibly England's Most Improved Player in this tournament.
Him or Trippier?

Absolutely hilarious thread this. Are the mags seriously still bleating on about a player who wasn't even eighth choice in midfield behind Henderson ?
I wouldn't have just chosen standbys like Lallana and Livermore ahead of Shelvey, I'd have chosen Wilshere and Cook too.
They are visibly choking having to concede that two Sunderland lads are doing rather well

the safc fans desperation to be relevent is real
when two X players are doing well for england and your ripping your cocks off as if the were still playing in front of the 27.000 pink seat possie
it's nice mackems can have a lad from sunderland and one from washington who supports them to be proud off...but pretending toon fans who's england x players,x managers and nufc supporting players shit all over safc's in the world cup billy big bollox contest give a shit is 3rd division bantz!

forget about the nufc obsession. and enjoy the world cup...."its comming home"
English please!

Obviously a bitter singleton. Sounds to me like his one and only girlfriend ran off with a mackem or summit. Possibly needs to get a job or take up a spot to unleash that pent-up anger. Obsessed by Keegan and the eternal losers of the 90s.

I don't give a Monkeys chuff where they are from, England should not be about club rivalry.

Pickford has been fantastic, and seemed to get better after the unwarranted stick he got after the Belgium game.
Henderson's been brilliant, sets a good base for the midfield and his work rate and passing have been spot on.

For the record I don't think Shelvey should be in ahead of Henderson, but I do think he should have been an option to bring off the bench, Delph and Dier are too similar to Henderson but without his range of passing, that's where Shelvey would have come in for me, as and when Henderson wasn't fit......

Decent post. I disagree about Shelvey being in the squad but I can see your argument. CM is not a particularly strong area for England.

Totally irrelevant in the theme of this thread but i 100 percent wouldve took andy carroll as an 'option' instead of danny welbeck

Aye, Shelvey is nowhere near as good as Henderson but I'd suggest he's better than Loftus Cheek and would have been a different option from the bench to unlock defences (moreso against the lesser teams but those decrease the deeper you get into the competition).

Shelvey doesn't have the stamina, work rate or discipline to represent England

That just about sums him up tbf.

He certainly doesn't put in a shift or track back effectively and all too often stands watching the game go by.

Hacking 40 yard balls, over the top, might occasionally work for Newcastle but that isn't the game Southgate has worked on for England.

Shelvey just doesn't have enough variation in his game.

 Thick as a castle wall.
Never mind Shelvey not being able to see through the 90mins against Colombia, he’d have been red carded against Panama.
He really is a very special soldier:rolleyes:

Very talented on the ball but we've seen plenty like that before it's not enough on its own.

Why do people follow him on Twitter or even read his tweets. If all of us safc fans ignored him he would soon disappear and become as irrelevant as he was to his Mrs.
