“Jonjo should have had Henderson’s shirt, far better player”

What on earth are you waffling on about?

Two local lads are playing in a World Cup Semi-Final. Where they play now, or played before is irrelevant. They are local lads, who are about to play for England in the biggest game for almost 30 years. Save the SAFC bollocks for August pet.

Tbf I’m now pretty convinced that this is an SAFC fan having a joke.

But you can't get a Panda buffet in Washington. Or get nice cocktails like the ones they serve in The Blandford.

Is a snakebite a cocktail now?

He isn’t better than Henderson, he isn’t better than anyone in the squad, any one who thinks different is a bitter mag. Must be horrible for them to know the Sunderland lads are bringing it home.

All of the mags I know who openly dislike Henderson still say he’s a better player than Shelvey.

Not sure there’ll actually be many of them who think otherwise.

There's no denying Pickford's Sunderland roots, but Washington isn't Sunderland.

I've never met a single person from Washington who says they're from Sunderland. It's a town in its own right.
It's in Sunderland

So if people in Sunderland started paying council tax to Gateshead Council, who then put signs up saying "Welcome to Gateshead", would you tell people you're from Gateshead and accept that Sunderland is part of Gateshead?

Not meaning to sound like a **** like, but that's how most people from Washington feel about it.

They are divided by a river and the A19 so geographically, historically and by postcode, it just isn't Sunderland.
Sunderland is on both sides of the river and both sides of the A19

the safc fans desperation to be relevent is real
when two X players are doing well for england and your ripping your cocks off as if the were still playing in front of the 27.000 pink seat possie
it's nice mackems can have a lad from sunderland and one from washington who supports them to be proud off...but pretending toon fans who's england x players,x managers and nufc supporting players shit all over safc's in the world cup billy big bollox contest give a shit is 3rd division bantz!

forget about the nufc obsession. and enjoy the world cup...."its comming home"
If ever there was a bite, this is it. And of course no Mags lapped up Gazza, Waddle and Beardsley in past world cups. Even though they fucked off first chance they got.

Fog on the Tyne my f***ing arse.

Because he's from Washington
The City of Sunderland ( ) is a of , in , with the status of a and . It is named after its largest settlement, , but covers a far larger area which includes the towns of , , and , as well as a range of suburban villages.

He's from Washington in the city of Sunderland.

Couldn't give a toss where anyone is from, as long as we win the World cup i will celebrate with Henderson, Pickford and anyone, even if they are wearing a Sunderland shirt, we are all ENGLISH for Fucks sake.

Of course he should.

That's why one is an unreliable, jobbing midfielder in a recently promoted team and the other has just played in a Champions League final and will soon play in a World Cup semi final, before playing for a big club next season including another Champions League campaign.

Obvious really.

Couldn't give a toss where anyone is from, as long as we win the World cup i will celebrate with Henderson, Pickford and anyone, even if they are wearing a Sunderland shirt, we are all ENGLISH for Fucks sake.
True of course. Going back a bit but I was leaping all ower when Shearer put us ahead against Germany in 1996.

I'm from Washington, although was born in the old Borough of Sunderland only to move to Washington at the age of 12

Imagine my surprise when I discovered I still lived in The Borough of Sunderland.

Later it changed to City of Sunderland and still is

Getting to the stage where I genuinely pity him.

The lad's not well.

As for Pickford, I know the lad personally and he'd probably want to clout you if you said he was a Geordie.
