“Jonjo should have had Henderson’s shirt, far better player”

I've just had a thought if England did win the world cup this coupled with his undefeated streak for England would undoubtedly make Jordan Henderson the most successful English player of all time.

the safc fans desperation to be relevent is real
when two X players are doing well for england and your ripping your cocks off as if the were still playing in front of the 27.000 pink seat possie
it's nice mackems can have a lad from sunderland and one from washington who supports them to be proud off...but pretending toon fans who's england x players,x managers and nufc supporting players shit all over safc's in the world cup billy big bollox contest give a shit is 3rd division bantz!

forget about the nufc obsession. and enjoy the world cup...."its comming home"

What on earth are you waffling on about?

Two local lads are playing in a World Cup Semi-Final. Where they play now, or played before is irrelevant. They are local lads, who are about to play for England in the biggest game for almost 30 years. Save the SAFC bollocks for August pet.

There's no denying Pickford's Sunderland roots, but Washington isn't Sunderland.

I've never met a single person from Washington who says they're from Sunderland. It's a town in its own right.
Washington is a new town in the City of Sunderland local government district of Tyne and Wear, England, and part of historic County Durham.

There's a big sign just when I pull off the A1(M) and cut through Washington to Fulwell. "City of Sunderland, twinned with Essen and St. Nazaire" or summat. That's good enough for me.

So if people in Sunderland started paying council tax to Gateshead Council, who then put signs up saying "Welcome to Gateshead", would you tell people you're from Gateshead and accept that Sunderland is part of Gateshead?

Not meaning to sound like a **** like, but that's how most people from Washington feel about it.

They are divided by a river and the A19 so geographically, historically and by postcode, it just isn't Sunderland.

The clip of this one.

Why on earth would people from Sunderland pay council tax to Gateshead council?

Washington is part of the City of Sunderland.

He isn’t better than Henderson, he isn’t better than anyone in the squad, any one who thinks different is a bitter mag. Must be horrible for them to know the Sunderland lads are bringing it home.

Quality players are motivated to do it year in year out....not just in the 6 months before a tournament.

I live in Fulwell which is divided from historical Sunderland by a river, so I'm obviously not part of Sunderland.

I've had similar discussions with people from Scotland who deny they're British, (look at your passport ginge), and Irish people who deny Ireland is part of the British Isles. I used to see people in South Hylton when I was growing up he were in denial about being part of Sunderland (subsumed in 1974 iirc).

The same Jordan Henderson who just captained his club team to a CL Final too. Liverpool would have won it nee doubt if big nose was playing instead of Henderson.

It's not that they support Sunderland ya f***ing buffoon it's the fact they came through our youth team!

Who's the ex,not x by the way, mag managers you can be proud of in world cups. And by the way we aren't really mentioning our ex players it's lads that came through our youth team and were developed by the club ya f***ing div.

It must really kill you all that the 3rd division shite doesn't really bother us, we accept that we have been shite are where we deserve to be and can see light at the end of the tunnel with the new regime.

Odd thing to discuss when league one awaits.
it isn't odd at all its a football forum talking all things football. as for league one I think you will find that sunderland fans are looking forward to it hence the amazing response in season ticket sales despite 2 consecutive relegations and years and years of dross.

just like you lot embraced the championship
