This. Walker was in the wrong position and made a mistake. Lad isn't a cb though so these things will happen.
 

I think (although not in this case) we are going to see the main problem with with VAR - there's so much contact in football that almost any time the ball goes into the box if you scour the video enough you will find some contact somewhere to give a penalty, and if a penalty is given its going to be very rare to find no contact at all and overturn it, so we'll end up with 1 or more every game. The laws of the game are going to have to change around it in time, I dont know how but "none game influencing" contact is going to have to be differentiated.
 
how did the numptys in the booth pull the game back when Korea could have scored to give a Swedish Penna, but they didn't for us..... ?

I can see why there’s was given but I said after that if he is going to give penalties with a bit of contact he is going to have to give another 4 or 5 pens tonight, which he didn’t. I believe that all football fans want refs to be consistent with there decisions

There's contact all over the pitch though, it's meant to be a contact sport. Free kicks and penalties shouldn't be given just for contact but for foul play.

Keown probably would have jumped up hitting him on the back like he did. Against Van nistelrooy all those years ago.

Never a penalty though as you mentioned they suggested it was ‘clever’ - how it clever not making an attempt to go for the ball and running into someone :lol:
 
I’m guessing the linesman was having a little sleepy throughout the game too....
The ref was shocking, chasing lingaard (sp) off when subbed, then the tunisian’s saunter off at their own pace....
 
Pen for me no need to be clothes lining the Tunisian player.... walker wasn't gonna challenge for the ball either so his arm/ elbow is in a high position...Kane should've had 2 though
 
I'm not sure if it was or wasn't, but Walker allowed him the opportunity to give it by throwing up his arms with his back turned to the field of play. Stupid on his part.

Is that so? The ref was utterly hopeless last night. So many good reffing performances so far and we end up with that buffoon.

If that’s true then the ref should be held accountable for that.

VAR should have picked up 2 pen shouts for England and if the ref refused to even check then that seems a little dodgy...

Columbian ref? Not for me to say anything about that... ;)

That one stuck out for me too, letting Khazri fanny about with the armband and hi-fives for his teammates while strolling off at 1-1. 2-1, and he's frogmarching Lingard all the way to the touchline.

I think Walker got of lightly should have a had a red card. Ashley Young got away with a blatant elbow, we could have been playing with nine.
