I'm sorry but Portsmouth are bigger than Villa, Leeds and Sunderland, nevermind little neighbours Southampton. If you think different then you are really deluded. End of debate.
At the moment the order in size of south coast clubs is - Bournemouth , saints, Brighton , Plymouth Pompey Exeter then Torquay.
You may get huge crowds, you managed to get an average of over 20000 twice in the last 50 years, but unfortunately saints average more, Brighton too, Bournemouth are an established premiere team and Plymouth are far better known.

Stadium capacity means nothing, looking at MK Dons. Pompey have far more potential than Sunderland and that cannot be disputed. Sunderland's location means they can never truly be a big club and the potential is somewhat limited.

Okay given you're also based in North East England, that means you can't be a big club either.

They've won the top flight twice and the FA cup twice. Although it was in 2008, similar to us only one of their major honours has came post 1950.

Likewise, they don't even have half the capacity of the SoL, how are they bigger than us?
They arent. Billy wont answer questions though

offmenut, im not going to bite, everyone on the south coast knows Pompey are the biggest club.

It takes some f***ing idiocy to say that when three other south coast clubs are in the premier league and you're in league one like, having not long ago been in league two anarl...

I cant see us getting to 20k however if we can win some games maybe by christmas we could pick up a lot of part season tickets
I think we will. Over 2 months till the first league game , seem to have been selling around 5-600 a week at the moment , even if the rate slows down another 2k should be achievable.

I try not to get into the ‘my clubs bigger than your club’ handbag carry on, but you’ve got me here. That is one of the most insane footballing opinions I’ve ever heard.

There were some games in the premiership where Portsmouth had to pay £47 for home tickets. Plus facilities and shocking. If Portsmouth and Sunderland had the same facilities and prices and both battling promotion, Portsmouth would average more. Fact.

It's not though is it Bad Billy?

I like Sunderland, they have good support. But the potential at Sunderland will only get them so far up the ladder. The potential at Portsmouth and the potential crowds dwarfs that of any club outside the premiership and a lot in it. The problem is the stadium and the city is an Island so relocating makes it difficult.

You're going to need a bigger boat...

Not bad. On a side note, Portsmouth have had 25,000 applications for season tickets.

They have good fans and that sounded impressive but a quick check on Twitter shows that you can easily log onto their site and buy a season ticket straight away if you want.

So why lie? You attention seeking tit.

34,000 applied for the couple of thousand match tickets that went on sale. It was soldout a month or so before. Portsmouth is the biggest club outside the premiership.

Step away from the heroin.

Any free tickets kicking about?

Aye! My lad is still at Newcastle United and was regularly offered premier league tickets last season at the Hotch Potch. Including, (the only ones he has ever taken up), for the Man Utd home game, which he acquired for a friend's dad.

They're very kind up there !

The tickets must be cheap as chips are they? They always struggle to attract attendances more than 20k so there must be a unique offer or something.

Those stats are a bit misleading. Portsmouth soldout lots of games a month or so before, and had 34,000 applications for Charlton and Peterborough games at home.

Yes sure they did.
