ALS Methven Interview

Now you must all understand this man is deluded and disliked by a large number of Oxford United supporters. There is a tweet by the previous supporters trust chairman which calls in to question his recollection of events and the level of his involvement. Don’t get fooled by this man as he can be very divisive.

Below is just one of the comments

How will #oufc ever survive without him?! I mean, he single handedly kept the club alive. What a man!

You have been warned

Give it time
Another one covered in gravy

This.
It smacks too hard of trying to 'get the fans onside'.
"I know - I'll tell them I always disliked the Mags - the fans will lap that up"
He's been an Oxford fan his whole life - probably never gave a second thought to them - or us - before this opportunity came along.
I suppose this is what happens when a PR guru buys the club; but it's cringeworthy.
Next he'll be telling us he has always hated Maggie Thatcher for what she did to our region...
Bullshit.everything he says has been correct.Go jet off with Ellis Short

Ps what's more cringeworthy than Ftm74 Mr cool

I’ve loved your posts and respected so much your support of your team, you have been lovely about me and me dad. Please don’t spoil that because you don’t like our new owners.

Nothing about new owners and take it as a new beginning for Sunderland.
The original post mentioned success of Oxford in the 80’s led by Robert Maxwell.
Pensioners money was stolen and merely stating facts.
Look up Pergamon Press some real heartbreaking stories and they never got a penny back. That has nothing to do with your new owners.

You are coming over like a mag, feck right off.

Just stating some history that clearly you are unaware of.
Has nothing to do with your club or new ownership.
Why the anger....

So, if it has nothing to do with our new owners why raise it.

The fact he has the mags chomping like f*ck is hilarious. Yes, he’s clearly a PR man and is playing the PR game but it seems to be backed up with a tangible passion for the club.

Contrast that with the whimpering ineffectiveness of the latter part of the previous regime and it’s not surprising that it’s generating excitement.

Love that he isn’t being apologetic for who we are and the situation we’re in. That’s been the case from the senior management of the club for far too long and it’s incredibly damaging.

You were at it last night. If it has nowt to do with our owners why are you referring to it. You are at it again tonight.
You have made your feelings regarding our new owners very clear. You are a guest here.
Shut up about it and let us speak as we find.
Btw that is the last time I respond to you.

Just a little disappointed in you, your stance seems to have shifted because we are owned by people who were involved with your rivals.
He can't grasp the fact that we don't give a toss about Swindon or Oxford and that our owners have moved on. I'm finished with him.

Oh dear, this new bloke hasn't got a clue. His quotes about Newcastle will come back to haunt him. The press will have bookmarked them.

None of us will worry about that, bookmark it.
Well you should. Whether he believes it or was just saying it to get you lot on his side, it's not appropriate for someone in a responsible position at a football club to be coming out with in public.

You seem very bitter and angry and no need to.
Nothing to do with your new owners and good luck to you.
Football rivalry is not just about you and the black and whites.
All over the Country and very prominent between Swindon and Oxford particularly with the history. Captain Bob, Thames Valley Royals etc
Not so long ago Di Canio was unveiled as your new Manager which didn’t fit too well with many and with their working class values and tradition. Particularly with your links towards the mining community.
Your new CEO is a well publicised fan of Margaret Thatcher.
So what and surely it’s all about the club and success.
You may already be aware our Chairman is an ex Sunderland player. I am not a big fan of him and the direction our club are going. Still keep going though.
