So you’ve turned your back on your home county and been lured by the brights lights of Newcastle adopting the place as your new home.

Quite sad that.

Not really was always my goal to get a place by the quayside and I have worked hard and sacrificed a lot for it

Good for you, really hope you enjoy it, the bairn had an apartment on the quayside and loved it at first but has had enough and is now moving back to good old County Durham. Good lass though (No), never forgot her roots whilst living there.

Mutual appreciation of what? Been consistently shite and never filling your grounds?
We are seen as been arrogant and cocky as we aren't like other shitty little clubs

I work around the country and believe me the general opinions on Sunderland are just constant relegation battles empty seats and a shithole of a place. I mention Newcastle and people say I've heard that's a class place and good nightlife I would like to go there.

Mention Sunderland and they just think shithole. Yet in this weird reality on here Sunderland is a metropolis and Newcastle is a landfill

One of first things he mentions is Newcastle as he knows it will get you all on side forever if he hates the mags

Imagine when Benitez took over if he was on about how he always hated Sunderland man. Wouldn't happen it would be small time and embarrassing.

Especially at if he lines up here Newcastle is the only decent place for culture and good nightlife as he's gonna get none of that in Sunderland!
Shut up you f***ing berk every signing you make mentions Sunderland trying to belittle us and get in the good books with the 52 thoosand screaming wankers.

That's different. He means invenstment in the team. If we have a 50m transfer budget now then sell lascelles for 30m and only spend 30m and that 50m reminds untouched it means we have invested zero into the squad from what we have now. Spent 30m yes but not invested any money extra.

I'm sure Short has invested far more in Sunderland than Ashley has in Newcastle. I think you are right up there in net spend in the last 10 years and we are about even.

So if we are about level for player trading in 10 years where has all them years of tv money and huge ticket sales etc

Don't waste your breath on the net spend stuff mate. ..

Net spend is an incaluable alien concept on this board -

...it's something dreamt up by Newcastle United fans to spin our line on Ashley being an unambitious tosspot who just wants a club as a clothes horse to drape his tatty product across.

I'd love to see 5 examples of this, because if it's every signing you should be able to find examples no bother.

Imagine Rafa Benitez arriving at Newcastle fresh from Real Madrid saying how much he hates the mackems

They get some chancer nobody has heard of who has to pretend he's always hated the mags and had a secret passion for Sunderland to gain more favour.

Fact is if he had the chance to get involved at Newcastle or Sunderland for a similar price he wouldn't even think twice

Fresh from being sacked by Real Madrid for failing miserably. Otherwise why would such a powerhouse of a manager consider lowly Newcastle?

Because he "gets it" and understands. Also to be close to his family again

Rafa knows. If he stays for 5 years he will be the one to bring home a trophy to end the long drought
