Filling the stadium...

Don't you understand the concept of revenue neutral?...ie more paying customers paying less overall. 30,000 at £200 is the same as 20,000 paying £300. There's no loss of revenue IF an assumption is made that the extra 10,000 wouldn't have renewed at the current prices....and that's not to suggest price is the only criteria. My suggestion is purely a way for the new owners to get fans onside, fill the stadium and hopefully create a good atmosphere AT NO EXTRA COST.....and only for one (hopefully successful) season where the original 17k AND the extra fans attracted renew for next season. Hardly radical but my god it's offended a few on here.

You were wanting refunds for everyone who has already renewed on your original post. I'd imagine the club would class that as an extra cost like.

There is absolutely nothing wrong with Lord Alfred's thinking. If you increase the footfall to 30000 instead of just 20000 you also increase the likelihood of more visitors to the club store which in turn will bring in more revenue. Added to that you have increased sales in the various bars and at the vendors. This approach will also bring more people into the City on match day whereby traders will also see continued or increased levels of sales. You have to look at more than just the cash takings. 30000 people will create more of an atmosphere than 20000.

What happens if we drop the prices to your suggested level and we only sell 21k season tickets?

Is it beyond the realms of possibility that two successful entrepreneurs could work that one out?

It’s took 13 pages and over 200 posts but thanks for your support marra

Jeez you’re slow on the uptake

Not one person in the whole wide world is arguing with that part of his plan.

What a silly response. The club would be losing money is the correct answer.

You really can’t say that....it’s an assumption.

You know those end aisles in the supermarkets where companies offer their goods at reduced prices.....why do you think they do it. Do they do it because they’re happy to sell at a loss or do they think that people will like what they buy and continue buying it at normal prices.

Kind of synonymous with most of your replies to be fair.
Not really. I've been pretty fair and clear with my point of view if you look back. It's not my fault if you keep ploughing on regardless of how many times it is explained to you by various people.
Your last analogy was a classic tho. I genuinely thought you were taking the piss.

So you don’t think football clubs go in for marketing to boost sales/income?

Suggesting my analogy was ridiculous?
It was. Should we sell tickets cheaper the closer we get to kick off if it's not going to sell out you reckon?

Is their a limit to the number of tins of beans a company can sell?
Are their other beans available?
What happens when the beans become popular and they go up a third of the price one day?

What a pedant

The suggestion that the worst club of the last ten years in English football may need to be creative in re-establishing it’s support base eh

How am I pedant?

I have no problem with people being creative. Does that mean I have to agree with every idea no matter how shit I think it is?

Just get your 2 season tickets at £795 each with the money you have set aside or dont. Its really that simple.

Again with the shit analogys.

The choice is

A. Buy a shirt or
B. Don't buy a shirt.

I then decide on what type as there are many different ones available.

And regards a season ticket there is the option to buy into a club with ambition or not buy if you think the owners aren’t really ambitious and you’ll be served more of what drove you away in the first place.
