Moyes was a big name manager, he was shit. Coleman was a relatively big name and he failed. O'Neill was a big name and he was failing when sacked. Big names are no guarantee of success. Yes it's a risk, but appointing a "big name" would have been a risk too. Fact is that Stewart Donald obviously has a vision for our club and knows the type of manager he wants. He's come in, been more open than any other chairman I can remember, given us hope, got rid of Bain. I'll be trusting his judgment and giving full support to the new manager regardless of whether he is a big name or not. Assuming he is the type of manager that Donald mentioned on the podcast, one that is very professional, will raise standards, won't accept slackers and is genuinely up for the challenge then that's fine by me.

To go back a bit further, Lawrie Mac (big name at the time) failed too , then Denis Smith (virtually unknown) got us up twice within a couple of years....would be lovely if history repeated itself.

Coleman with funds and an actual team would have been better that this shit.

I wouldn't let him loose with a tenner............Camp, Ejaria and Fookin Fletcher were his signings

5 at the back, 5 wins in the pub league

exactly, just look how some supposed bigger names have done here ffs...........people on here crucifying the guy already and he isnt even here yet !!

When results go against us at the start, which they will, do not give the owners and manager shit - not yet - they all need time to prove themselves - expecting it to take 2 seasons minimum - but if we can see progress then all good.

I’ve no idea. I don’t know the first thing about him. How do you think your lot will do next season and will Mike back Rafa ?

He hasn't done fuck all, never manager in england, hasnt got any contracts in the game and haway lets get ready to see loads of Scottish players signing for us. f***ing great.

Newcastle will go down next season and rafa will walk.
