Incase it's escaped your notice, we're only a couple of divisions ahead of that. A few of the teams in this league aren't much better to start with.

Anyway, he's a fantastic manager, he's took a club that was on its knees to the Premiership within a season. He's just the sort of young, hungry manager we need at the moment. I'd rather him than some crusty no-mark. Great appointment IMO.

Mind, I've been wrong before, I was happy when Moyes was appointed...
League One standard is very poor but it's a lot better than the Scottish Championship I'd say. I like the sound of attacking football and promotions at both clubs he's managed, but he did also take Alloa down first. Other managers like Neil Lennon and Alan Stubbs have also been successful in Scotland but then come to England and done poor jobs.

Like I said, I will give him my full backing and really hope he can build our club back up. I just need to be convinced really.

Moyes was a big name manager, he was shit. Coleman was a relatively big name and he failed. O'Neill was a big name and he was failing when sacked. Big names are no guarantee of success. Yes it's a risk, but appointing a "big name" would have been a risk too. Fact is that Stewart Donald obviously has a vision for our club and knows the type of manager he wants. He's come in, been more open than any other chairman I can remember, given us hope, got rid of Bain. I'll be trusting his judgment and giving full support to the new manager regardless of whether he is a big name or not. Assuming he is the type of manager that Donald mentioned on the podcast, one that is very professional, will raise standards, won't accept slackers and is genuinely up for the challenge then that's fine by me.
