Ok mate.Pretty obvious I thought. A poster making an assertion that no-one who hadn’t renewed or bought in again couldn’t possibly have done so due to cost....which I disputed. That’s miles away from you extrapolating a few words of my reply to make it seem like I’m referring to the whole 10,000. How do you know someone hasn’t made a cost/benefit analysis and decided a pair of season tickets at £900 isn’t a good use of limited resources but £400 would be. It may be enough to see some people return. A statement of intent and a show of ambition would also help. Being parsimonious and just continuing the cost cutting of the previous regime will see less than 20k rattling around the stadium and any chance of a flying start nullified imo.
Ok mate.
Spot on, good postAdult season card prices already work put at about £13.50 a game. I'm not really sure how much cheaper people want them to make it. No doubt the same people demanding even cheaper tickets would be the first to complain when the playing budget is slashed further to compensate for it.
The club needs to generate more income from gate receipts, because that is one of the areas we've consistently fallen behind our competitors in, not less.
Can anyone tell me our average attendance in 97/98, 98/99, 03/04, 04/05 and 06/07?
As has been pointed out though many times on here we have the worst win record over the last 10 years of any club in the whole football league and our support has stood up remarkably during that time. Imo the last two seasons have been the straw that broke the camel’s back and we need to accept that a lot of supporters just got sick of the misery. We need to be proactive in getting them back before they get used to not going and if the new owners can fill the stadium at no extra cost they should do it.
Disagree mate...with the PC closed I’d say there’s every chance.
I was including the PC. Lower bowl, we could fill it by going on a good run, agreed
Why’s that? Is your supposition based on your spending power or theirs?
It is still a tad unclear what he actually means. But it's definitely something different to your own personal experiences.Do you genuinely believe that ticket prices are the reason that crowds are down?
We will be the biggest club in League One next season yet will have some of the most reasonable ticket prices. I honestly can't see how they can make them much lower. You could get an adult season card for £310 which is £13.50 a game. An under 18 can get a season card that works out at £3.50 a game and an under 16 can go along for £2 a game. How much cheaper would you like them to make it? They pay you perhaps?

Just posting opinions like you are. No need to get all arsey about it.You still aren’t listening to what I’m saying so let’s go through it point by point.
Do you agree that a full stadium is better than a half full stadium for atmosphere, getting the club talked about favourably and creating a good environment for the players, new and existing.
If you do, do you then think that if the club can facilitate that without losing income then they should (as a one off gesture) try to do that.
If you don’t agree with the above then fair enough, we disagree.
Still hanging around like a bad smell I see.
I think a full stadium is better than a half full stadium like.![]()
So you think dropping the prices will fill the stadium? I disagree but it's all about opinions. I can back mine up with history and anecdotes tho. It’s like pulling teeth but we’ll get there.

I fully expect matchday ticket prices to drop. Thought they were too expensive last season tbh. Each and every set of circumstances are different though. Only Wolves have suffered successive relegations since Swindon back in the early 90’s so it’s an almost unique set of circumstances. We’ve gone from 42k to around 20k in about a year and a lot of those season card holders ( can’t remember exact numbers but I think it was around 35k last PL season down to 16.5k for next) are still ripe to be enticed back. The longer it’s left the more difficult it is to get them to return so imo a one off gesture to bring them back to games is a good strategic move. You have to bear in mind that the current low cost per game for a season card isn’t reflected in a match day ticket purchase....imo that £30 or so is a big stumbling block to your assertion that they’ll return once we start winning games.

Fair weather fans… the Don best reward us loyal supporters who committed under old Ellis - I’ll accept a medalPersonally I don't think it's down to price, it's mainly down to entertainment and the fact that we fail to win the vast majority of our home games. If the football improves and the team begins to win again, the fans will soon flock back.
What we have experienced is not normal, very few sets of fans have experienced such utter failure. It would affect the most ardent supporter and although it's great news that we now have a new ownership team, I still think many fans will be wary and will possible want to see a reaction before returning week in week out.
