there's a massive difference between top drawer and a bloke with Alloa & St Mirren on his CV.

There's a massive difference between the uninspiring usual suspects that Ellis Short brought in for his last two years in charge; Moyes, Grayson, Coleman: and the young, fresh successful manager caught as his great career is near its beginning that Stewart and Charlie are trying to deliver first off.

he reduced us to our lowest position in our history.. thats some achievement..

not quite as low as Scottish League 1.

some achievement indeed.

I think folk are seriously underestimating how poor the Scottish Championship really is. I reckon most national league teams would beat some of the pub teams at that level in Scotland.

A friend of mine did some scouting for Hamilton and speaks very highly of him. Very well thought of in Scotland, intelligent and demands a lot from those around him. Played for Hamilton for a while and left as he did not agree with the style of football.

If we aren't going to bring in some massive personality like Keane (which is a gamble in its own right) then I'm glad we are going for a young up and coming manager with forward momentum to his career rather than someone who's a journeyman lower league manager that never made the step up.

For me it shows planning in the short and medium term with potential for long term. They think he's good enough to get us promoted. Then if so we can give him a shot in the Championship......if he's not the man then we thank him for his job and look elsewhere from a much better position.

Good luck to the lad.

it's a good job he was given the chance to succeed. Imagine if Alloa's fan base (if there's such a thing) had went on the way our lot did after Ross took them down.
They had finished 2nd bottom the season before. Not just been relegated from the premier league

Is this appointment not akin to Alex Neil joining Norwich, that didn’t go to badly and i think many would be over the moon if he was joining us

Please don’t tell me you are now going into one of those absolute cretins that wants us to do badly so he can be “right”

Bore off man ffs - he’s 41 ffs, he isn’t going to have a managerial cv including AC Milan and Real Madrid

How come he was the manager of the year award in scotland when brenda did the triple?

Whats all that about?

Not being negative, just wondering. Quite pleased with the appointment. Not a big name to pamper to peoples egos. It might just work for once.
