It won't happen until we shift an awful lot of players.

Did you not sit down and look at each club, its traditions, history and how it fits with the community and then identify the one which best fitted your own wants?
It was easy when I was a bairn. Born in Sunderland, you supported us. Born in Newcastle, you supported them. Born somewhere like Shields, you supported whichever team your family did. No questions to ask.
Why do you keep ignoring me saying all clubs are not the same?
What fans want isn't different though, nor is how fans decide who to support.
You proved it by stating you support us cos your folks told you to. Do you actually think most fans sit down and make an educated choice about who they support, based on what each club represents?
Fookin hellSundeland
I never suggested that fans do as highlighted above, I said that each club has it's own culture and so do each group of fans. Do you really suggest that there is no 'cultural' difference between us and Newcastle? If we accept that the culture is different, it is self evident that we aren't all the same ffs!
Surely it isn't rocket science.
Okay... You now need to point out the cultural differences between our supporters and the Mags (obviously we don't make arses of ourselves as much or fight animals but apart from that).
Or to make it easier. You list what you think Sunderland fans want from their team/club and we will see if it's different to what other clubs fans want.
The other thing my mother taught me is you cant educate mince. If you cant accept that clubs and fans are different then such is life, I wont press you any further.
It is simplistic. I don't think about or support my club any differently than for example,
Do you not mean @Swindon On Tour ?
And for the fourth time I've said clubs aren't all the same.... Nice of your mam to refer to her son as mince. And mince rhymes with rinse, which is a canny coincidence.
Touche
Touché marra.
I'm sure I will be forever in your debt.
Not all fans of a club are from the clubs area...there is a reason why people are drawn to a club outside their area. I think this is the point of @daveyspants post. It could be just a glory hunt but in the case of a club like Sunderland, there is probably a different reason, whatever that may be...
Nah, I will do a Short, and wipe the slate clean so you can have a fresh start. No problem.
It is glory hunting, and that's already been said.
For the vast majority of those not from here the reason will be their parents support us.
Nowt to do with different cultures.
Why do you support us?
I was a PL fan first and not really a fan of any club. Watched games in US on Saturday/Sunday mornings before the US sports would come on. In the US it’s rare that managers or head coaches quit mid season. When Keane quit and Sunderland were struggling to stay up, I started pulling for them to stay up. After the season, I was all over the internet trying to find any info I could about SAFC. A fan was born.
Why are the ALS lads, knackas?Charlie Fookin Baby.....
Must be a T-Shirt in this from those ALS Knackas.....
