It’s official! Stewart Donald and his consortium have finally completed their takeover of Sunderland AFC. The move comes after the EFL gave their approval on Friday - exclusively revealed by Roker Report - and after the sale of Donald’s previous club, Eastleigh FC, went through successfully. The purchase of Sunderland is expected to have cost...

They really just need to get to work now, keep all this media stuff brief, get on with trying to get rid of players not wanted, appointing manager, getting league one quality players in, its going to be hard work

I can't see who is going to buy some of the players on the big wages.

The reality is IMO, for this to work, we need to get out of League One this season, if we don't, I think we head towards financial trouble again
I think they need to keep the fans informed, but at arms length for now too. Some people seem to be more bothered about pink seats than anything else. Our main issue's are pretty well publicised, they can't fix everything over night.

i'd can the fan forums straight away, focus on the team and everything else falls into place

Exactly, rightly so he can't say much about transfer budget, the manager, staff and the players, he is just doing it to make friends, which is fair enough like

But aye actions much more important, and its not easy like, I am not gonna criticise if they can't shift these players, I don't see how they can for some of them

Absolutely, going to take time, and unfortunately the issues don't go away just by not having Short there

I am sure they tried their best to get rid of Rodwell last year for example

All well and good so far but the managerial appointment is key.

Rae, Appleton and Ross lead the betting but all three would be beyond stupid appointments.

Bloody hell people twisting FFS. He's just said we'll have the biggest budget in the league, even more so than last years promoted sides. Also sounds like they will be other investors but it was more important to get the takeover done quickly so we can get to work this summer and get out this league at the first attempt. Very exciting and compared to how the future looked 6 weeks ago, beyond belief people can be disappointed.

Oh and we're debt free.

I think the whingers were expecting some involvement of an Awab Man.

Don't think it's honestly about doing what the fans want...more about building bridges and getting a sense of togetherness back through good will and communication.

If the fans ask for a giant, diamond encrusted, Statue of Lyndon Gooch made but that money was earmarked for a new keeper I'm sure we won't be getting the Statue.
