More rumours BSA is going to get sacked

It's surely going to wrankle with him at the end if his career that he will always be remembered as mercenary you bring in to stave off relegation but who could never really crack it past that.

Everton is the biggest club he's been at and they want him out within a few months as soon he has served his purpose.

Getting the England job was the closest thing he's going to get to top level recognition in the game and he blew it at the sniff of a few quid. His bank balance isn't going to make up for the fact he's a relative also ran.
Everton bigger than Sunderland?

bolton had more flair than given credit for, djorkeaf, okacha, hierro, alonso, hardly boring kill joys, even nolan had a bit flair, for us surely khirhoff and khazri and m'villa werent dour killers of the game.i like everton but i hope they suffer next season.

If anyone is actually interested in the reasons it’s not worked out for him and can put aside the job he did at Sunderland then here’s some of them I can see:

1) The football has been horrible. Doesn’t matter whether it wasn’t when he was at Sunderland. It has been here.

2) Following on from point 1, we’ve lost interest. We don’t threaten wins over the top teams (even at home the best we can hope for is a 0-0 Draw) and have been comfortably outplayed when we’ve lost.

3) This is his biggest club job and his opportunity to show it’s not all about him and he’s failed. Throws the players under the bus when results are negative and takes all the plaudits when they’re positive.

4) Disrespected the fans on numerous occasions. Batted away criticism as “15 fans on the internet” and laughed at fans when asked about any pressure.

5) We want to be better than 7th and/or win Silverware. Allardyce’s entire career suggests he isn’t capable of that. Don’t forget we only actually wanted him for six months. He played a blinder to make it an 18 month contract.

6) This is a minor and petty one. He keeps taking credit for a 4-0 win when he wasn’t even in charge against West Ham.

7) This is a big one. Serious question marks over what he can do with our young talents. Davies desperately needs to improve on the ball which won’t happen under Sam. Lookman was shipped out to Leipzig (Sam wanted him to go to Derby) and has tore it up whilst Sam preferred the dismal Bolasie. Calvert-Lewin and Holgate haven’t seen much game time either.

Worth saying that he wasn’t actually at your club for very long and you could easily have been fed up quickly with him yourselves had he stayed. As that’s what happened with O’Neill, Di Canio, Payet and Advocaat before him.

Yes, they will, but what I posted there is true. Whoever they bring in with a foreign name will cost them millions, they will have to lay off Sam, the new guy will bring in new staff and sign new players. No guarantee he will do any better than Sam, in fact he most definitely won't.
They won't listen, they hate him

It's a weird one, they were in real danger of going down and he has them comfortably in the top 10.

From what I've heard Everton supporters talk fondly of Unsworth who had a 25% win rate vs Sam's 40%. Strange.

Unsworth took 7 points from five league matches and steadied the ship.

The pattern of results didn’t really change under Allardyce. Beat shit teams, struggled away from home for the most part and haven’t touched any team above us.

His record is very similar to Puel at Leicester. Compare the difference in media pressure...

Mate you won’t get anybody better. That’s a full stop by the way

1) you should have appointed a fancy foreigner who got you knocking the ball about before conceding twice and losing every week. Is Martinez available?

2) you're 8th in the league. You're clearly not getting outplayed very often. Most teams don't stand a chance against City, United & Liverpool. You're no different. That's not Allardyce's fault.

3) you're 8th in the league. That's not failure.

4) you're 8th in the league and are slating him every week but you're taking offence at the fact he's responding in kind?

5) you want to be better than 7th with a cup?? Whilst I have no issue with anyone having hopes and dreams of being a top 6 team, holding it against the man who's got you into 8th position is bordering on ridiculous.

6) petty one.

7) your £30million (player of the season) goalkeeper made his senior debut under Allardyce.

It’ll be Marco Silva and we’ll see. He’s definitely more likely to bring us success.

We’re never going to be in danger of relegation with our players so there’s no point in wasting a season with Allardyce.

We’d blew our load by hiring him to soon in the first place.

You’re argument that we’re 8th would be more relevant if the league wasn’t top 6 and “the rest” from 7th down.

Also if it wasn’t abundantly obvious we had the 7th best squad in the league.

No miracle has occurred here.

It’s not even a case of what he’s done this season.

It’s whether we have confidence of him progressing next season and everything has pointed to the answer “No”.

No chance does Marco silva do any better or even match what allardyce has done if it turns out to be him. "We want to be top 6 and win a cup" boo hoo who dosen't!?

So you don’t think we should try?

Stick in our place in 7th because you like Allardyce rather than go with a young manager with a great reputation from former players and colleagues alike?

We’re not talking about going for the title or top 4 here. The next logical step for Everton is trying to get a place in the top 6 next season and win a trophy in the next few seasons.

Not being funny but that’s something Allardyce has no history of doing in almost three decades of management.

does this mean Guardiola hasn't done a good job because he's got the best squad therefore finishing 1st isn't anything special? Considering you're on a messageboard of a club who are going to be kicking off in the third tier in August, I think you're going to struggle to find anyone sympathising with your fans whinging like bairns because you're 8th & no miracle has occurred.

Fair point. Allardyce stays next season and I would have you as 7th/8th no problem. Someone like Marco silva came in I'd say it's more likely you could slip back to 10th/11th than break the top 6.

With Arsenal looking shaky though then yeah a well appointed manager could push you on. Certainly a risk though. Agree that i couldn't see Allardyce winning you a cup though

I think you’ll find the mags of Merseyside are the “Next year is our year” team.

Who said I’m asking for sympathy... You guys shouldn’t even be moaning about the third tier! Boreham Wood lost in the play-offs today to even get in the football league.

See how silly that sort of statement is?

he had Bolton playing in the UEFA cup yet you all hate him because of a presumptuous opinion that he doesn't stand a chance of winning the capital one cup with Everton?

Thanks for being open-minded with the response.

If Allardyce is here next season then I have no doubt we’d finish 7th but it doesn’t get us anything and the football this season has suggested we need to be looking elsewhere.

Every new manager appointment is a risk.

it's not silly at all. Sunderland & Everton are clubs of a similar stature. Sunderland & Boreham Wood aren't.

That was a time before Man City and Tottenham had made it a top 6.

Finishing 5th or 6th with what was a good Bolton side is the equivalent of 7th now which only gets you into Europe if cups go your way.

would you rather finish 13th-16th with Martinez (or similar) or 7th with Allardyce?
