A bit of delusion, or ambition as I like to call it hasn't done us too bad in the past though. I'm sure I would of never been to watch us in Europe if we were a "grounded" club. Although im sure wouldn't of went down in 2009 if we never sacked big sam.

FFS man give it a rest. BSA is now an absolute mercenary without an ounce of loyalty to anything asides from BSA Plc. Left us for a job he fucked up due to his own selfishness within months.....
 
It's a weird one, they were in real danger of going down and he has them comfortably in the top 10.

From what I've heard Everton supporters talk fondly of Unsworth who had a 25% win rate vs Sam's 40%. Strange.
 
IMO if the owner of Everton has any sense he will keep Big Sam for another year. He will do better in that year than any new foreign manager which is what the fans are clamming for and he will do it at a fraction of the price.

It’s as if they think the manager needs to be a huge name because they spent £100m+ last summer. They are 8th ffs. It’s a good finish when you looked likely to be relegated.

What are you babbling on about? So what youre saying is the ambition of the fans took you to Europe?

Ambition of the club. Same as when we went down 2016. It was " right we are the biggest club in this league and we are going to walk it and come straight back up" we were even singing songs about when we win the championship in September. That's what persuaded Benitez to stay and the likes of Gayle and Ritchie to drop down a division to take us up.

If we went down with a "grounded" attitude and that we were going to do anything other than come straight back up then who knows where we would be now.

Their fans will go berserk if that happens.
 
It's surely going to wrankle with him at the end if his career that he will always be remembered as mercenary you bring in to stave off relegation but who could never really crack it past that.

Everton is the biggest club he's been at and they want him out within a few months as soon he has served his purpose.

Getting the England job was the closest thing he's going to get to top level recognition in the game and he blew it at the sniff of a few quid. His bank balance isn't going to make up for the fact he's a relative also ran.

Yes, they will, but what I posted there is true. Whoever they bring in with a foreign name will cost them millions, they will have to lay off Sam, the new guy will bring in new staff and sign new players. No guarantee he will do any better than Sam, in fact he most definitely won't.

True but apart from the England fiasco he can do nowt about it. He should retire and enjoy his life TBH. The reaction to him from the Everton fans should tell him that whether they are right or wrong( and they are wrong) it's time to relax and enjoy his money and family.

:confused: how can they claim climbing from relegation candidates to 8th in the league isn't progress because they don't knock it about like Barcelona? We've finished higher than 8th in the premier league (I know 1992 etc etc) twice in our history yet Allardyce has managed it with someone else's squad in less than a season. Had an incredible amount of respect for Everton after their support of Bradley Lowery but I've lost quite a bit of respect this season.
