Tell him it's for women too :lol:

This seems to have come completely out of the blue, especially as they've already announced the 8 team city T20 starting at the same time. Nick Knight seems to think the big advantage is that games will be over by 9pm, but I don't get it.

The thing is, lotsof people saying they want cricket on BBC or whatever, well this is the time frame it has to be on

If people don't want it, that is fine, but then don't knock the ECB for selling just to Sky
Spot on. I'm not particular!early against it in the predictable way some others appear to be, it just seems odd to have the second T20 starting alongside it. Plus it looks like a month of the season is dedicated to it, which I don't like.

Absolutely stupid. I like T20, i enjoy watching it, just as much as I enjoy watching a 4/5 day game. However it's just becoming stupid the ideas they come up with to 'improve' and gain new interest. All they are going to do is push away loyal supporters who enjoy the current formats. The are lots of other things they could do to encourage more people to watch.

Cheaper Tickets (Family tickets)
Look at start times
Double Headers (a weekend where to home team play 2 games)

There will be many more ways they can do what they apparently want to do without changing the format

Yeah lots of problems, willing to give it a chance though

Yeah, ultimately, it's trying to find a format suitable for broadcasting on a non-sport only channel and is a way of appeasing viewers who will find their expected program delayed because the cricket is running over time.

It's not remotely to do with the ground going paying customer though. It's all about broadcasters and broadcast rights.

How long until it's 2 overs per side with sides obliged to give away at least 4 6's and 3 wickets per match. Just to ensure crowd entertainment like.

It's sad watching the game being raped and pillaged like this.
Don't watch it is the simple answer then. If you're happy paying £100 to watch so-called test cricket, teams poodling along to 275-5 off 88 overs in 6½ hours which is supposed to be 90 in 6 hours, and call it "proper cricket" for some unknown reason, that's fine.

In all seriousness? I'm guessing at approximately never.

What a load of shit. Allowing hours on end for utter rubbish that's too extensive to even get into but not an extra hour for a cricket match. BBC Four for fuck sake. Who watches it? BBC Parliament?

Why don't they just go direct to the 6-ball format. It will save much fannying around as the game gets shortened more and more because it's inevitable where we'll end up anyway .
