Was Sissoko one of their better players? As far as I can remember, they couldn't wait to get rid of him, same with Wijnaldum.
Benitez didn't turn the profit, it'll have been Charnley, where are his plaudits?

I think the Sissoko point is a very valid one. Getting that money for him was one of the best deals ever I'd not seen enough of them to make a judgement on Wijnaldum but assumed he'd done ok.
I still don't see why people can't accept that to have the team sitting tenth (all be it within touching distance of 15th and 16th) after turning over a profit in the transfer market doesn't show good management.

He wasn't, your right.

However he still gets on the team sheet at a club competing at the the top of the Prem and is a full international. He's probably a better player than most of our midfield. Wouldn't have him back though.

Net spend does matter, if Short had controlled his net spend then you wouldn't be in the shit that you are now.

Buying "cheap" players and getting them to compete in the top half of the Premiership is an achievement.

We’d have been relegated long ago, but probably in a better position to compete.

I haven’t a clue how much you received or spent last season or this,
I think you got about 30 odd million for sissoko and 15 for winalydim ?
I’m hungover and trawling through this forum.
If you look at most of my posts I don’t care about the mags - got a lot of mates and mates kids who support them. Don’t mind you sometimes tbh , can’t get away from you as you live and breath the SMB man :lol:

This is probably the most I've posted in weeks tbf (outside of laughing at the foodies thread over on the other board) because there have been a dearth of NUFC threads. They appear less and I post less.
