When you knew Ellis Short was buying the club, you read that he was an American business man worth 1 billion, youre thinking this could be good, 10 years later after it goes tits up you search the new onvestor who is going to buy the club and the first link that comes up is him in a newcastle top! This is a f***ing joke this

Him and his kids attended SAFC matches at Roker Park and he approached the club about investing in it, so I'm afraid you're slightly wrong.

His firm had season tickets at Roker Park which they used for corporate reasons, but he was born/brought up in Northumberland as a Newcastle fan....as were his kids even though they went to school in Sunderland.....I've even spoken to Douglas about this and he hated your lot with a passion.

Glad ya got that off ya chest!

O’Briens have connections to Sage too going off their website. Hasn’t the bloke from Sage been mentioned too? Could be something in it.

If by "the bloke from sage" you mean Graham Wylie then I would say it's unlikely. He's a Newcastle fan, he has also had nothing to do with sage for the past 15 years. One of Wylie's great personal friends and colleagues is David Stonehouse who is also CEO of TSG (Wylie is majority shareholder), David was FD/MD at SAFC for 7 years coterminous with the Reid era. He is a dyed in the wool black n whiter also and was eventually head hunted by NUFC to his dream job, he didn't stay up the road long, no doubt due to the bent goings on of Hall and Shepherd (that is my personal speculation btw). Whilst great blokes they are both mags and I couldn't see either of them wanting to get involved at SAFC.

Aye, I suppose it's why I get pissed off that the club being shite is killing things like the atmosphere in pubs before the game. Also it kills me when the bairn says she doesn't want to go to the match because we'll get beat. Like thousands of others my Dad took me, I still go to aways with him, so naturally I want to pass that on to my kids.

Exactly. Plus I think if you're a local fan you probably (again, most of the time with exceptions) actually get to go to games. Anyone who regularly gives up full days to watch their club is likely to be more invested than someone who watches a stream/ broadcast then turns it off and gets on with their day. I doubt the bloke is a die hard, gravy stained mag!
