You have to say, if this was Anderson and Broad crying on TV, there would be absolutely no sympathy, and Warner and Smith would be sledging about it

Good quote from Paul Newman

"I cringed when he said 'good people make mistakes'. He was telling the world he was a good person really but some of his conduct as a captain has been shameful — like his complicity in the personal sledging of Jonny Bairstow and the Chuckle Brothers press conference with Cameron Bancroft in Brisbane — and he is now suffering the consequences."

Haway obviously real tears, its only up for debate what he is crying about.

Fuck him mate. The weak arse prick. I cried crocodile tears when I got caught cheating on a french exam when a young un. Not cos I felt remorse. But I felt I needed to to get me out of a hole. As I was a straight A student otherwise. Worked a f***ing treat.

Or Cairns dead sister ,no tears from me ,gutless arsehole.
Agreed, they are only acting like this because they were caught, People called Cook a week leader but his players didn't go around abusing opponents and tampering with the ball did they? ;)

They didn't

And Cook is turning out to be a much stronger leader than Root, careful what you wish for!

Must admit was watching the BBC news report this morning on it, started laughing again

Think I'm trying too hard to be fair, when in fact, I love it secretly, sorry @ollie c

Anderson, 71 maidens, 26 wickets, average 33 in India. 181 maidens, 60 wickets, average 35 in Australia. 45 maidens in new Zealand, 21 wickets, average 35. 704 maidens in England, 327 wickets , average 24. 30 maidens, 11 wickets, average 40 in Sri lanka. 63 maidens, 22 wickets, average 20 in UAE. 68 maidens, 26 wickets, 25 average in west indies. 23 maidens, 8 wickets, 31 average in Wales. Deserves credit Anderson, for example Starc averages 28 in his home country for example, so for Anderson to average 35 in Australia is good. Steyn averages 49 in Australia.

Well, well, well. It looks like The Rat was right .... from the DT this morning.

Even as the Australian , one county was enquiring if they could approach one of them for the forthcoming season only to be told by the England & Wales Cricket Board there was .

The ECB will not allow Steve Smith, David Warner or Cameron Bancroft to play county cricket this season unless there is a softening of Cricket Australia’s stance.

Tom Harrison, the ECB chief executive, has been in touch with his opposite number, James Sutherland, at Cricket Australia and promised to back him up.

Telegraph Sport understands one county approached the ECB about whether they would be but boards have reciprocal agreements in place that see them ratify bans handed down by other member countries.

I've got Johnson's personae on ignore but doesnt take Einstein to work out it's Surrey. A county utterly bereft of morals.

Just seen Bancroft did a press conference with his mother.

Smith did one with his father and Warner made sure he was surrounded by his wife and kids as soon as he hopped off the plane.

Damage control 101

Pure cowardice

And this is why stuff like this will never die out in sport (some clubs just don't have the game at heart).
