Would you take Smith or Warner for Durham?

Not quite the same thing. Was discussed at length on the Tuffers and Vaughan podcast and then again by Flintoff on his podcast - diving in football is more like not walking in cricket - the phrase used was 'gamesmanship' rather than out and out cheating which ball tampering is.

Do we really want to go down the route of likening football and cricket though?
Exactly. Who defends gamesmanship anyway? It's a cancer and a big turn off.

Cheating is cheating. As a large proportion of football games are decided by a single goal, a skilful diver could well help his side to a major title, to win a game of cricket 20 wickets must be taken, so a batsman walking or not is much less of a factor.

Ball tampering has been around for decades. Where money is involved shady practices follow, look at drugs in cycling, athletics, and even tennis, banning three scapegoats will have a minimal effect .

Cheating is cheating, but then the laws of cricket dictate you MUST NOT tamper with the ball. They don't however say anything about not walking, that's the spirit of cricket but not written into the laws.

I asked do we really want to compare football and cricket? I was hoping you'd agree with me that we don't, but you did anyway . Again, I'm not getting into it, because football is massively immoral from grass roots to world class level and IMO it's a million miles from cricket in far too many ways in which to compare the two.

Again, drug cheats and ball tamperers..... possibly the same, but definitely both are worse than not walking. Look at how harshly the match fixers were dealt with too - that should tell you how the severity of the crimes differ.

Absolutely. As much as can’t stand the fuckers somebody (probably Surrey) will take them and benefit from two top players. If they helped us get promotion and perhaps a trip to lords why not? Use the fuckers for what they are.
It really doesn't surprise me that you said yes.

Loves the moving ball does Warner ,except when he's facing it ;)
The blokes a rite cock .I seen the rerun of his interview after Trott had a bad time labelling him mentally weak.
Wonder what he thinks of his captain then, who cried like a baby today while giving an interview in Oz. f***ing pathetic. You reap what you sow you little lesbian looking twat.

I’m enjoying every second of watching them squirm but if opportunity presented itself for a world class player to land in your lap then yeah I’d take it providing we weren’t breaking any laws.
Then, you sir, are a DICK.
