Comes as absolutely no surprise whatsoever that England have started yet another away series by playing like utter wankers - a glorified net session that is a two day friendly is quite clearly not preparation enough for a pink ball Test.
Neither for that matter is a two day Red Ball friendly for a normal Test Match. I'm sick to death of England being undercooked, time after time we are found wanting because their preparation is shit.
Surely some of the people involved with the decision making, if not the players themselves can see it isn't enough conditioning?
I think I'm right in saying that the last time we had proper preparation was India 2012, which was for me our finest away performance (aside from the 2010/11 Ashes) , but unfortunately players are that keen to keep tours as short as possible that they don't factor in sufficient warm up time.
Clearly the shorter formats are a factor, because there's more Cricket to schedule into these tours, but Red Ball Cricket is still king, maybe only just, but that is where the focus has to be.
It's time for a change.
