Rumours about our nearest & dearest trying to get into the Wolves game

With an identity as a national laughing stock, aye. Every third-rate comedian has the thick, sentimental "jawdee" character getting worked up over nothing as a fall-back for a cheap laugh. Your "identity" is on a par with the boring Brummie and the thieving Scouser- fat, pastie-munching mags hanging around that big grey eyesore like flies around shit, spouting incomprehensible twaddle about "wor beloved toon". That's your identity to most people. You must be so proud.

What actually hurts us is that our accents are the same as yours to people outside the area and we get lumped in with you. It hurts to be associated in any way with the kind of people who hold mock funerals for the name of a football ground, who proclaim themselves a "nation" like the Catalan people and can't see how ridiculous that is, people who think they're living in some cultural oasis because woah, there's a big shopping centre over the water and a gallery with nowt of any worth in it... and fuck me if there's not a regional airport close by, there's a thing.

More than anything else, Newcastle United and its supporters have held back the North East as a region by sullying its image for outsiders. A region of hard-working, down to earth people who can laugh at themselves has been hijacked over the last 20 years by sanctimonious, humourless, pretentious bores droning on and on about their f***ing heritage and their "geordie pride". In your determination to prove that you're the bestest, loyalest, cushtiest fans in all the world, you just give the world the impression that you have got absolutely nothing in your lives, that the only thing that can light up the darkness of your Cruddas Park grief-holes is the chance to weeble about the place dressed like giant mint humbugs grunting, "toon toon black and white army" even though you're on the bus and it's Thursday morning. We hate you because you embarrass us and you embarrass the whole region. Now fuck off. (@DCmackem, 2

This thread
Considering the resident mags seem to be dissing the notion that their backward fans are gonna attend this game, they’ve got their knickers in a right twist on the subject.

Apparently according to a post above your backward fans are going to attend the Chelsea game.
While I by no means think we are safe the bookies have us as unlikely to go down.
They must be coming to celebrate our premiership survival with us I take it, sink a few Rafa songs and join in the general mirth.
I wonder if they will be joining us or the Chelsea fans to watch it.

if unoriginal.

Way too confrontational for a Friday man. There's not even any football to spoil your mood further. Relax.
Loath as I am to admit it, the only fly in my Friday ointment is you. Now please leave me alone. Go and bore someone else.

Like that’s gonna happen. There’s far more chance of your lot coming to the Wolves game and tbh I hope they do.

They'll be welcomed with open arms. they may even be allowed to pick up some stuff from the food bank.[/QUOTE]
What with 52,000 screaming jawdees inside, loads locked out and a long waiting list, I don’t think so.

I doubt either will happen, it all sounds like a bunch of tossers on both sides trying to act like hard men to me, lets face it it's not hard when you're on the internet, but we'll find out in a few months I guess.

I am new to this site, been watching Sunderland since 1976. I can't for the life of me understand why Mags want to converse on a Sunderland discussion board ( then again we all know they are deluded ) it reeks of despair and whee look at me me me, each to their own though I suppose.

I come here because the crack is often quite good, the topics are pretty diverse and there are plenty of things discussed neutral to both clubs, it's very active as well.
Personally I don't see why Newcastle fans and Sunderland fans shouldn't converse, we live 16 miles away so doesn't seem odd to me.
I know brothers, one supports Newcastle and the other Sunderland, if they didn't converse with each other I think it might spoil Christmas for them.

True, I could never post on Newcastle websites though, and besides I absolutely abhor Christmas, as I said though each to their own.
