Plus the fact they've got relevant people in the media who talk about it. Weetabix heed is all over MOTD and The Sun talking about things. All Sunderland have is Mickey Grey sat on Channel 5 talking to 100k viewers. Like or not, regardless of the cringey shit they did with banners and the like it got the job done. It got people talking. There was a full house at the ground, national press there, pics going around social media.

Compare that to what happened on Saturday - there a few thousand people shown walking out of an already empty ground after an hour. There's nothing there for anyone outside of this catchment area to give a fuck about. The only press the club gets is when a sex offender plays for them or some dickhead smashes some cars up.

Why exactly do we require people talking about us?

If that is what we need then its easy, bombard social media and talk sport, talk about our club is a completly biased manner and make stuff up.

Protest at the ground but dont forget to resort to violence.

No one has ever given a monkeys about Sunderland which is fine with me as I dont care for there clubs either. Not worth getting upset about imo.
 
Listening to radio Newcastle match commentary and the bloke who reports alongside Benno sounded like he couldn’t give a fcik.
Compare that to the fat twat mick lowes and he would be going mental
 
To any fan outside of Sunderland what would the story be? If you arent part of the sky big 6 then there is no interest unless there was a major scandal involved,the average football fan just sees another club making up the numbers not a big club in crisis
 
There’ll be a bit of national media attention when relegation is confirmed. It’s not that big a story, nationally though. We absolutely stunk the premier league out for so long most people are probably pleased we won’t be back for a long long time

Re-read your post. I quote, "you lot as fans" I'm one of the above, you can't pretend to know what I'm thinking or how I'm feeling. My original comment stands.

Perennial strugglers drop from the Premier League,don't spend much, employ uninspiring managers, fail to produce on the pitch. Where's the story? What's the "hot take"? Why should a national paper dedicate column inches to your slide towards League 1?

How's the protests going at your place? What are they for again?
 
Peter Reid’s final full season after two top 7 finishes saw a toxic atmosphere during home games.
During the 99-00 season when the club went on a run after christmas of not winning for a few games you could sense the anger at home games until they recovered and finished 7th.
Now there is nothing. Walking to the ground on a matchday you can sense that everyone has given up. That includes me. The club has been ruined and probably lost thousands of fans forever.
 
The reason no-one cares is we've been a slow motion train wreck over so many seasons that we've ground them down : failure is what everyone expects from Sunderland. The rest of the premier league have little sympathy after we stunk the place out for so long. Short gets off lightly because he's not a pantomime villain like Gold & Sullivan . He's done his bollocks on the club and not managed to take a penny out of it. If anyone thinks about him at all they just think he's a well intentioned mug and we're now getting what we deserve after pissing his money up the wall for so long for so little return.
 
Must admit "you don't moan enough" isn't a criticism I'd make of football supporters in general or NE fans of any club in particular
