The tide will turn at some point, and when it does we’ll all be there supporting the lads. These things happen in football, unfortunately on a regular basis with Sunderland.

without some investment in the playing squad or some kind if miracle it's not going to get any better

the playing staff and coaching team are offering nothing at the minute. there is not a single reason to go to games other than blind loyalty. it's not just this season either.

what could your motivation be for going tonight ? Not to watch a team playing football that's for sure . basically out of habit .

That's the point I am trying to make .Younger fans are just not going. It's getting worse too. Last night was ultimate apathy and everything about the club just seemed to be dying.
why would any teenager want to sit in the cold in silence watching a team with no intention of trying to win games . just tread water and hope not to concede. it's depressing

You're absolutely spot on mate. I don't notice it as much as I have went for years but my brother is still in disbelief of our demise. Even walking over the bridge he was in shock at how little people there seemed to be and how flat everything was. It just got worse as we entered the stadium.

So does anyone know whether ST prices will go up? Fully expecting other rumours to materialise re partial closure of the ground

Villa fans are enjoying it tbf
This is in no way a bitter post as I've spent several years having to listen to the away fans behind me laugh at our expense but by god, Villa fans must have the worst crack and "songbook" in the whole wide world. Cringey as fuck and lacking in any humour whatsoever. Worse than the mags and I can't be harsher than that. Wonder why it's so bad?

You are correct. We lost a generation with Keegan up the road but still filled 48K under Reidy. However, you are wrong to say the club is dead. The club is not Ellis Short. He is just passing through. He has been an absolute disaster and a case study on how not to run a football club. He will leave at some point and the new owners will get the support of the fans and things will turn. We just have to hope that's as soon as possible because, as Coleman rightly said, nothing will change till Short is gone.

You never went when there was 11K at Roker Park - now that was poor. I did and seemed to remember it was a canny game although I may be wrong.

This is it in a nutshell.
New owners, fresh start.
It's only a matter of time.

This game. Pathetic. Went to the game with my brother who is here from Poland and first time in years. Couldn't believe the demise. Watched that half and We are done.

Are we Fook man, season always starts in March
