Not sure if this is a windup or not, but sure I went went to two with Reidy, one at the Porcupine Park (Alex) and one at Biddick Club.

I remember him saying “ well there aren’t many Darkies in Sunderland” which I wasn’t overly impressed with at the time

This was in response to being asked whats the difference between sunderland and liverpool iirc
Then he said oops forgot about gary bennett.
I think.

Got to respect them for coming into the town and facing the fans. Not many in the football industry would do it these days.
The likes of Reidy would never do it when he was here.
You only do this if you care, and your prepared to be humble enough to take the flak
I'd suggest he's doing it because it's season ticket renewal time and he can claim "we're all disappointed but I've met and engaged with fans" line, despite disappearing off the face of the Earth between January and July last year and November to present.

Short has no track record of telling his senior execs to get in front of the fans in their own backyard. I can’t remember anyone doing since Dennis Smith. Big difference between holding something in Quinn’s bar and going into a city centre bar.
Short has done it, quinn did it loads. Im sure there's more that ive forgotten.

Agree. First thing that sprang to mind for me.
