I cancelled years 10 yrs ago have saved 6k,to think you're paying towards Rodwell sitting on his arse
I’m paying to watch football on the telly/iPad without the hassle of low quality streams. Seen some great games this weekend nothing to do with Rodwell. There is life outside SAFC in the football world.

Nah, was a good thing.

The increased money isn’t changing anything on the pitch - it’s just the same players and agents getting 500k a week instead of 300k a week.

It won’t stop the same thing as Leicester happening again, but the planets need to align: all the top clubs have an off year and another club assembles a group of players who show extreme improvement and organisation that same season.

That’s why they won it and it can and will happen again - not often though.

It was by accident rather than design, though.

When you add it up like that, it's scary. I binned it a few years ago. Have Netflix for around £7 a month and terrestrial telly. Very rarely miss Sky TV at all. Kids certainly don't, neither does this missus. Wouldn't have it back. On the rare occasion Sunderland are on Sky or BT I head to my local and watch over a couple
Of pints.

Sky pumping money into English football isn’t the problem. The lack of regulation and fair distribution from the FA is the problem.

Imagine if when the last sky deal was agreed the FA said that the money would be given to the clubs as it had been but that ticket prices must be capped at £10 for a normal seat, £20 for a premium one, and £5 for a concession. Hospitality could be sold at the usual prices but no more than 10% of the attendance could come from hospitality.

You’d likely have full stadia throughout the league.

Instead all the money went on inflating already ridiculous player prices/wages/agent fees, the ticket prices remained as ludicrous as ever and the stadia remained as empty as ever.

It’s a real shame but all the extra sky money has done since the premier league was formed imho it take the game away from the affordability of the working classes.
And get it onto the telly where they want it, and you sat in front of it.

The hole SAFC are in is one caused by the sheer greed of the top 6. We need to hit back at the whole rotten setup.

One way to do it, pretty simply, is to cancel your Sky and BT subscriptions, get your friends, and family to do the same and spread the word on social media. We just need a hashtag to get the ball rolling...

If the Sky bubble bursts whilst we are £150M in debt, are we in a better place?

But that in a roundabout way is my point. Our crowds are one of the main components of our league that set us apart from the other top flights. The FA should have safeguarded them and safeguarded the average fans wallet.

With the advent of FFP they have driven clubs to hunt for as much profit as possible with no thought as to how this will impact the average fan or the reputation of the game as a whole, meaning we’re being milked dry and a lot of people are being priced out of the game.

If they implemented capped seating costs people would still pay for sky, it’s just that there would be more people in the stadia making a better atmosphere.

So I repeat, sky aren’t the issue, it’s the lack of regulation and compassion from the FA for the fans that is the issue.

You may be right, but the FA are trousering a big wad of cash. If Sky and BT and whoever else start getting less money, then the FA will have to listen.

They will never cap seating . Too many snouts in the trough. The fa sold footballs soul with the first tv deal.

I've just got Sky back in..i've had a Kodi box and Openbox and just got sick of sticking streams, picture breaking up etc..i'm paying £20 for the sports and £10 for the entertainment..love me football and I was missing it all with the Kodi stuff..£7.50 per week..price of two pints these days.

Added to the list.

I thought it was having a shit owner with no idea how to run a football club.

I will put sky in between Jack Rodwell and the match day pies as the reason for failure.

I did it 12 months ago. I despise SKY.

I'm not like..the Kodi box and Openbox were hopeless..i now see all Sky football for £5 a week..no sticking..no delay..HD quality.

And hence the argument that little can change and why the Rodwell ilk and his splurge of corporate greedsters are running amok because people are generally a little too comfortable and apathetic.
