You sound like one of these jealous chavs on facebook who thinks soldiers should be paid the same as wayne rooney and wants all sex offenders executed because it makes you sound all hard and moral. AJ has served his time, and paid a phenomenal image and financial price in the process. Let him get back to work.

would you be ok if he played somewhere else?

Not until the full length of his sentence is up, no. After the 6 years are up I would (personally) be ok with him having a job playing professional football so long as it complied with the terms of his being on the sex offenders register etc. and the club could show adequate safeguarding was in place.

what sort of logic is that?? why is it ok at 6 years and not 3??

Erm, how about the people saying that they'd be happy to see a registered sex offender given a very high profile job back where he'd not only be earning millions but be a role model for people in an age group that he now has a history of grooming? Take off your red and white tinted glasses for a moment and imagine he was a TV presenter, or a politician, walking straight back into those jobs. There'd be outrage, and rightly so.

Why not find me the people who think it's acceptable to groom a child like I asked you to mag scum?

that works both ways though. he must be ten millions down in lost earnings while inside, millions less going forwards because he wont get a massive contract again. also his reputation on an epic level. yes he had privilige but he has paid a price for his actions far greater than a regular bloke would have.
Poor little lamb!

Because at the end of 6 years he will have fulfilled his sentence?

I understand people saying that once he's served his time he should be able to make money again - I don't disagree with that - but his time finishes 6 years after the sentence, not 3.

Any club that took him on in this country would be a mockery. Can you inagine the chants? It would be horrendous.

There are clearly plenty of people on here that see little wrong in grown men grooming schoolgirls for sex. I find that pretty disturbing. But I guess we know very little about the lives of people who post on here.

Wow, quite the accusation, got any evidence?

his time is 3 years if he behaves himself. thats the rule. you are applying some arbitrary logic here.

It's not.

what is the reasoning behind that? all ex-cons who are released early should sit at home for the balance of the original sentence, for what reason? the parole board will have determined that they arent at risk of reoffending so who benefits from stopping them working? the tax payer certainly loses out for one.

No. But prisoners who are released early shouldn't immediately go back into the job they used to be able to offend. That distinction is crucial.

not at all. the parole board will decide if there is a reasonable risk or not. do you seriously think for a second that AJ would be tapping up underage lasses again? he was just a horny moron who thought he could bend the rules when presented with an opportunity. he isnt a predator with a specific interest in kids ffs

The club does not want this subject to resurface I say good luck to the lad & no to hiring him back to Sunderland
