Blue UK passport

Could the dribblers not just colour their burgundy passports in with a crayon or felt tip rather than drag the UK into economical obvlivion to get a f***ing blue passport?

If only, they're just ticking off all the things their insular little minds wanted. They're still keeping their fingers crossed that they can get rid of the forrinz.

Yeah, of course I do. All the economic disruption etc. will be worth it to get our true blue patriotic british passports back.

Not that I'll be getting one, because I don't want to be visiting any strange foreign countries.

I'll consider your second sentence a light-hearted quip, but you mean the rest don't you?
What a f***ing whopper, you are.

Oh, and "british" (sic) has capital B, sunshine,

well I suppose it ill give us something to read as we stand in immigration queues in european airports, or in the customs checks we will have to go through when coming back to the UK

back to gambling in the nothing to declare aisle again

It's the fear and respect it strikes into the otherwise upperty fuzzy wuzzy, ram jam or diago on passport control. I for one live for that brief moment when they see it, bow and say "welcome back bwana, why did you leave your children, wait here , I will summon a bearer".

Sunshine ffs

And if you are going to pull me up on grammar, learn to spell ffs:

Indeed, forgive me for I was focussing on the nonsense spouted by another poster at the time. His name escapes me.

My passport is due to expire and don't want an EU one ever again. Any ideas how long it will be before the proper blue UK ones are available?
can't understand all this , I see it is headlined in the mail this morning ( which says it all I think ) , who gives a toss what colour the cover is ?

I actually like the idea of getting passport stamped

Got one for Ibiza in '86 & USA in '93
Everywhere else has been EU & no stamp

Had my passport 9 years and been out the EU twice in that time;

Went to Oz in November and didn't get stamped :(
Went to Turkey a few years ago and got stamped.

Red is the UK’s bank balance and white is the colour of flag we will show to the EU during next phase of negotiations

Red is the colour of the new republic, blue is the colour of the sea. White is the colour of my innocence.

As I said above, if you are going to pull me up on grammar, you better make sure you know how to spell yourself:

There is actually a spelling rule for this. In British English, when a 2 syllable word has the accent on the second syllable and the word ends in one vowel and one consonant (as in focus / travel etc.), you must double the last consonant. As far as I am aware, American English doesn't apply this rule, which is why it uses focusing / traveling and so on.

Which school did you go to, FFS?

Probably the same one as you.

Who'd have thought a thread related to Brexit would descend into pettiness?

That's the thing, you've highlighted a valid point.

The colour of your passport? Petty.
"Taking back control"? Petty.
"Haven't we had enough of experts?" Petty.
"No more foreigners"? Petty.
Brexit? Petty.

I suspect this is the sort of thing that gladdens the heart of the likes of Jacob Rees Mogg, Michael Howard and the like. Most people don't care what colour it is as long as it does the job.

Exactly, bizarre folk who care about the colour of the cover like.

Mine sits in a box in the loft tucked out the way for approximately 50 weeks of the year then when I'm away it stays in a hotel safe or in the bottom of a bag out of sight.

Hopefully these plums will go flashing them about in an airport or while away thinking they're class then they'll hopefully lose them and be stuck abroad - doing us all a favour.
