Blue UK passport

Seriously....why? What's the tossing point in this shit that people are dreaming up?

Suppose we've got to spend that £350m on something but why not something useful instead of this bollix?
because all the current ones say European union on the front so they need to be redone. blue is the traditional colour.

They were black weren't they?

Not got a scoobies. I'm sure someone from the olden days can come and remind us about the good old days of blue/black passports, rationing and the National Front.

Rule Britannia.

It's really not something that anyone should be worrying themselves about. Is this what they sit and do in their Brexit office? Still not sorted the deal, let's pander to the dummies and make our passports blue again

.. Agree, just replace the EU shite with the Union Flag for new passports.. Not worth spending a fortune on a new design, even if they change the colour ..

It amuses me that people actually care what colour their passport is. Go on ebay and buy a passport cover.

The 500mil quote has always been thus regardless of the colour of the passport. The british government pay a company a set amount to make our passports and that company makes a huge sums of money and every 5 yrs that contract goes out to tender.

Exactly.

It shouldn't make the slightest difference what the colour is - it won't cost any more or less than any of the other design changes they've made over the last two decades.

All that'll happen is, after the date they decide to change the design, is there'll be a transition period where both types are valid before the blue ones eventually become the norm.

That's what happened when we switched to the EU ones.

I suspect this is the sort of thing that gladdens the heart of the likes of Jacob Rees Mogg, Michael Howard and the like. Most people don't care what colour it is as long as it does the job.
