How long can Rafa last?

I see the fat overrated Spanish knacker is whining again on his press conference.
What a bell end.
Can't compete with Brighton and Huddersfield eh ? Roughly spent the same- around 40/45 million.
Can't compete wage wise ?? I'll bet my left bollock that skunks wage bill is way more than brightons or Udders.
I have zero respect for the skunk prick. Just get on COACHING and motivating the feckers. Isn't that what you get 7m a year for ??

Pathetic and petty. There has been 11 games.

Benitez is an elite coach and manager.

Which one of the 3 managers has been to the UEFA Champions League Final 4 times and irrespective of silly short term comparisons is adored and respected universally by his fan base?
Are you a mag that's taken on a Sunderland-linked username to pretend to be one of our fans? f***ing hell you sad bloke.

??

It's all he ever does. Cheque book manager.#

Easy for him to divert blame onto Ashley as he knows the happy clappers at Newcastle will believe everything Rafa says. Any other manager would be criticised from "the Geordie nation", but not Rafa, they are petrified he'll fuck off

He went on a little rant along the lines of 'a top striker costs £40m, an average one is £20m, if one can kick forward it's £10m'. What does that say for Joselu who he got for £5m?!

For all their pissing and moaning that he couldn't get the £20m striker they needed so badly, couldn't he have saved the money on Murphy and Joselu and been pretty much the whole way there with regards the fee?

How many teams in the Prem as a £40m striker the stupid fuckwit.

In fairness to the bloke I am paraphrasing there. I think he said a striker to score 20+ goals costs that much.

Edit: Here's the quote: ''If you want to sign a striker who'll score 20 goals, you must pay £40m. If you sign an average striker, it's £15m, or £10m if they can kick it forward. We didn't do it.''

Fulwell End, 1987, there is a disguised reference in it which some of the older fans on here spotted straight away.

Blatant mag.

Just given yourself away there marra. Time for a new username :oops::oops:

Benitez, quoted by the Shields Gazette, said: "I think the majority of the fans know what happened, and they know the reality. The reality is that we have a good team. We have some injuries, and our squad is not as big as some squads."

I said the same last season. Rafa did not have a strong enough squad to guarantee promotion, a strongish team (with weaknesses) but it was a myth that the squad was strong. Rafa is either quite good or incredibly lucky. And lucky is a dead cert. Lucky they did not get a run of injuries with an inadequate squad.

With parachute payments, absence of a sizable debt, and one and half times as much money in match day income as Brighton, commercial interest with lots of seasons in the Premier League, how can Newcastle not compete with Brighton and are miles ahead in income compared to Bournemouth and Huddersfield and Swansea and just about every team out of the top six including Everton and West Ham?

PS: Poyet left Brighton because of the glass ceiling (his name for FFP). I think that started when Poyet wanted to buy Van Djik and FFP would not allow it and Celtic would pay higher wages.

No because they have the 5th smallest wage bill in the league so couldn't have afforded a Iheanacho, Hernandez, even an Andre Gray type wage

It was 85 mate, but he comes across as a total mag spenk

TBF Sunderland v Gillingham was the mags biggest game of the 80's. They were drooling over the fact we got relegated to the 3rd that day.

Centre of their universe.

Aaah 87, the relegation season, gotcha.
Thought he was talking about when 250 skunks chased all Safc fans out of the Fulwell End and then ran on the pitch and emptied the Roker End in 85 cos according to them, that's what happened:eek:.

He’s just deflecting onto Ashley because he knows most of the fans will nor criticise him. His bleating is nauseating now. He bough Manquillo man.
He made no mention of this when they won a few games.
I’d wager he’s on a canny bit more money than the Brighton or Huddersfield managers as well.
It’s not going to end well this
This is why Ashley wants out.......pronto :D

Do they? How do we know that? Genuine question.
Also, will, say, Andre Gray's wage be more than Murphy's and Joselu's wage combined?

Was in a report today, Chronicle mind -

Gray is apparently on £70k a week although judging by that article, Watford are actually lower than Newcastle, but reckon that will change soon as can't see the likes of Richarlison etc being on peanuts. If he was on £70k then yeah, I'd say he'd be on more than those 2 combined.
