He's the obvious candidate, did a brilliant job at Boro after walking into a similar situation. The fact that he stands out yet we don't seem close to appointing him, or anyone, a week after Grayson is gone tells me he's not interested. If he's not, the only other obvious one that's not totally shit but fits the criteria (out of work and experienced) is Paul Lambert.

Correct. We sack a manager within minutes of a game, implying to me at least that they had a man in line to replace him immediately.

Obviously not. Not in the upside down world of SAFC, where relegation is not even being considered despite being at the bottom of the league, where there is almost zero knowledge of the game above the playing and coaching staff, where despite being a national laughing stock there has not even been a mention of the intentions for the future. A CEO who could not even front up to give a club statement on the manager's sacking. And so on, ad nauseum.

Karanka may have been approached but I doubt it. If he had, I'm sure he would have had the good manners not to laugh in the face of whoever asked him. He'll get a job no doubt. But he'll be able to get one at a proper club, run properly, neither of which descriptions now apply to us.

How do you see that benefiting the club?

It will hopefully make Short less likely to lie to him in the first place.

If he continues to lie to managers I'd rather know about it and maybe, just maybe, we'd see some actual vocal opposition to him staying as opposed to people fawning over him for a few platitudes and excuses.
