I did think that within that poor squad, those three would stand out as among the leagues best players. I was wrong. I think it’s more about their performances than the standard of the league.

Cattermole has never ever been a decent player mate hes a guy who ran about kicking people and has zero football ability very much like Robbie Savage was

Now the fact he cant run absolutely nullifies his way of play hes a complete passenger in games. The highlights ive seen of you this season just shows up his inabilities the amount of times hes standing round when you concede is unreal as was the case yesterday for their 3rd

To think you have 3 and a half more years of this parasite leeching money from the club. Very much like our own Taylor and Ameobi he should have been bombed out many years ago the lad is a total waster and is exactly what is wrong with SAFCS culture of the last 10 years

I think he's much better than that, or at least, was much better than that. I though he ran our midfield really well and helped to keep it's shape while more technical players took the glory (I can't actually remember our midfield ever taking the glory, but you know what I mean)...

I thought he used to read the game well, but that seems to have gone and his lack of pace is suddenly really obvious. I don't know what's happened to him.

He’s finished. Unfortunately he was given a four year deal. He’s probably only being played due to the wages he commands. Only logic behind it

If Di Canio had been supported, I certainly don't believe it would have been a case of the tail wagging the dog as it seems to be the case in many clubs nowadays.

I agree, I think he would. He'd also be a better option than Gibson. The problem is, he's on £70k p/w and unwilling to leave for less, so will happily see out his contract with you on top pay.
 
Cattermole has been overly criticised on here - he has put in plenty of MOTM performances over the year, he's generally taken responsibility and not hidden like chicken hearts like Colback or Rodwell. Unfortunately, he seems to be completely gone - his legs dont seem to work anymore - he's a bit like a boxer who has taken one fight too many. He is becoming an utter liability and needs to be dropped straight away. Gibson would be better and I'm sure a fit McNair would be far better. I just don't see Cattermole coming back again. That said, when he's finished I'll remember him as a decent player with a good attitude.

Excellent post. Injuries over a long period of time have caught up with him and he now looks pretty hopeless. Prior to that he has been a regular premier league starter, when fit for over a decade under many different managers and you simply don't do that by being totally shit.

Grayson has a habit of this.. playing people because of their salarys not their ability.. Rodwell for one.. and now catts.. both useless and a waste of a shirt..
