Hands up cattermole

Midfield has been the issue since pre season (and probably before) teams just brush us aside.
Playing Cattermole as part of a midfield two has been a disaster. yet Grayson continues to do it.
We are always out numbered can't hold the ball so defenders end up hoofing it long.
Haven't got the legs to support the forwards, constantly leave the defence exposed to runners.

I would go 433 or even 451
Ndong , Williams and McNair (when fit) in the middle for me

Cattermole needs to be dropped for a while and I don't want to see Rodwell or Gibson anywhere near the team.

If we have any money in January Ryan Woods did a solid job for Brentford yesterday as holding mid
loads of energy and looks like he can actually pass the ball.

Grayson still seems to think that players who have played, mainly f***ing shite, in the Premier League have an automatic pass into the side.

It's real second rate weakness by Grayson that he still picks the slow, limited, pointing, clapping, gurning clown, no matter how many weeks he is outclassed, outpassed, and outfought.

It's been blatantly obvious for months that Cattermole brings nothing at all to the team.

Edit.... Years

Why the fuck do you think PDC hasn't had another management job in football ??

He's a complete buffoon and an egomaniac. A moronic imbecile.

Saying we should have backed him and his ideology is nothing short of stupidity.

Cheers for the heads up. In future I'll be mindful to consider your opinion on stupidity. As you demonstrate on a daily basis, it's clearly something you excel at.

Excellent post. Injuries over a long period of time have caught up with him and he now looks pretty hopeless. Prior to that he has been a regular premier league starter, when fit for over a decade under many different managers and you simply don't do that by being totally shit.
He's also been a mainstay in every recent relegation scrap we've had & seen off loads of managers
Make of that what you will

Not sure if you two have a running beef but if you seriously think Di Canio is the answer to our current dilemma I’d be careful of them stones in your glass house there mate.

I can understand people not rating but this line of argument is absolute nonsense. Sunderland haven't sacked a manager since Gus Poyet. Cattermole won NEPOTY under him. The manager before Poyet didn't even pick him until it was too late. So that leaves 3 managers who left of their own accord and one manager who signed him. The other is MON
It's a f***ing ridiculous argument and one that holds no relevance

I have never had a love-in with Cattermole. But to say he has always been crap is nonsense. I haven't been to many games live over the past few years, but I remember against Man City in the Jee match he was unbelievable. and other games too. But in the past, he's missed too many games. When he comes back he's hopeless for a long while. Then he gets his mojo back, then gets injured again. Repeat ad nauseam. Now, he just looks awful and has to be dropped. For anyone. But a midfield of McGeady, Williams, Ndong (reluctantly) McNair and Watmore, with Grabban up front, is probably the best we can do. 4-5-1. Watmore's pace should make chances whilst at the same time strengthening the currently horrendous midfield, which piles pressure on our hopeless defence.

You could make out hes the reason for that or you could make out that he is the reason for iour longest unbroken spell in the top flight since the 1950's and the one season he effectively misses due to injury we get relegated. Make of that what you will ;)

It's a ridiculous argument. Fair enough if people don't rate him I can fully understand and currently given his form agree with them but that line of argument is absolutely mental

There have been loads of better options than Honeyman in almost every game we have played.

As for Cattermole and Ndong, Jonny Williams started on the bench against QPR and Preston, with Cattermole and Ndong preferred in both games. McGeady was on the bench against Cardiff, with Cattermole and Ndong starting.

Cattermole and Ndong are currently starting every game, and we aren't winning any of them because the game is getting played around them. He doesn't have many options, but he isn't getting the best out of what he does have.
That is down to formation as well mind, (acknowledging they've been shite though)
