True but isnt there a potential that it is wrong doings by people rather than the club? They therefore could and still will be held accountable. Im sure us being sold wont stop hmrc from their work. It has been hinted at that us and WHU are part of a much bigger french scandal so maybe we are a small part? Noone really knows.

Id be massively surprised if an oil rich sheikh bought us. Knowing our luck it will be a Joe Kinnear esque owner.

The penalties incurred (if any) would be against the Ltd company. It wouldn't be a single or several of people at the club as they are employed by the ltd company.

In that case the club could do anything it wants just blame the employees, hope HMRC take you's to the f***ing cleaners.

Mags officially up for sale. due diligence will be interesting with the HMRC thing hanging over them. I'd be looking for a massive indemnity clause.

This might chime with what my mate said to me last week. He is a semi retired accountant and former ST holder up there.

I posted what he said on the other thread, but to repeat one of his thoughts, he suggested that if there was a quick sale it might be a case of getting out before the HMRC case was brought. He knew nee more than me mind, but at least his guess had was an educated one.

I posted what he said on the other thread, but to repeat one of his thoughts, he suggested that if there was a quick sale it might be a case of getting out before the HMRC case was brought. He knew nee more than me mind, but at least his guess had was an educated one.

A huge chunk of the consideration will be deferred until the outcome of this hmcr business is known. It's not unusual for earn outs to run to 5 years, can't see this being any different.

It'll end badly for the mags unless they find a rich local business man, John hall style. Not many of them about (if any) that have the money to make a difference.

They get a rich Arab style takeover - truthfully is hate that to happen to Sunderland. We'd become a totally different club. Unrecognisable to the club we love.

They get venkeys- again not great

They get a rich businessman who wants the club to stand on its own 2 feet. (Is ashley)

Either way - unless they get a John hall they will turn into something they don't want to be
